The Perfect Axle Back Exhaust

When I got my 2012 base coupe the exhaust was stock and too quiet. Was going to go the NPP route then I found a great deal on a Borla S Classic (Stinger). Love the sound now but want to go with headers and a catless midpipe. It it becomes too loud I will go back to the factory mufflers ( I kept them).

guyzer, for less than 25% of what you spent on your various exhaust mods, you could have installed a good, used, original NPP set of muffs and controls. Best of both worlds, though is never outrageously loud, like the SLP. Cruising at 75 is dead quiet.

Thanks for your comments. I know. I learned the hard way$$$. I went back to my original post and wanted to update my comments. I still have the stock exhaust and did not change the tips. I am still not satisfied with the whisper quiet stock exhaust and I actually believe the car had more torque with the B&B PRT, or it just felt like it could breathe better.
It is not easy to find guys or car shows with Vettes that have different setups as has been suggested here. I am actually going to drive a Grand Sport tomorrow that has an NPP, so maybe that will be the ultimate solution. I am also curious about the B&B Fusion, that has the bi-modal set up. They say when it is closed it sounds a slightly louder than stock but when it is opened it is like a bullet style, straight through loud exhaust. I don't mind loud once in a while like when making an entrance, pulling up next to another sports car or cruising the Esplande at sunset.
So my current status is I am going to go drive a Vette with the NPP and then hopefully find someone with the Fusion bi-modal exhaust I can listen to live. I have a feeling it is going to come down to either of those two. Will update when I make my decision. The reality is video or sound clips just don't cut it. You have to actually listen to it live AND drive it to hear what the sound levels are in the cabin. The search for the perfect axle back exhaust continues!

I agree .... when two simple modifications are made. NPP is perfect when a mild-to-wild switch is installed and 'clips' are added to the butterflies so they can't close completely. I went with a dead pedal foot switch. It's a perfect and simple solution. I also installed speed nut clips on the butterflies so they are proped open approx 1/8" when in the 'mild' position. It provides the sweetest tone with NO highway drone.

watch the "parts for sale" section on this forum, there are usually a couple. Some are complete, front to rear, some are just the muffs, which is all most people want. Also, I see them on craigslist sometimes, and ebay, thought the ones on ebay are usually way high priced.
