Hello from a New C6 Owner
This is my first post to say hello to all the fellow C6 owners. I lurked for the past 3 months while shopping for my new (to me) C6. So thanks for all the wonderful tips and advise. Both my boys are finally out of college and all college debt has been paid. My senior accountant (wife) gave me the go ahead but with a strict budget. I bought a 2005 Base A4 coupe with the Z51 performance package (note it's not a model...see I'm learning). It has 61k miles and was very well taken care of. Other than a few small stone chips that I plan on having professionally touched up it looks and drives like new. The clear roof was a different story. It had so many stress cracks and imperfections you could hardly see through it. So I bought a brand new roof and still was way under budget. It has some light mods: Lingenfelter CAI, long tube headers, and Corsa exhaust. I do not plan on adding any other mods but I am going to have it dyno tuned as it is just slightly rough at idle. The car rocks a bit back and forth at idle and sounds just a tad rough. The power is much different than expected. Light throttle is very relaxed but just a bit more and the car just becomes a beast. Tires easily break free even at speed. I am trying to attach a picture but not sure how I'll make out. Thanks and I'll be around for a long time.

Regarding the throttle response, I believe GM programmed this "throttle-by-wire" to be light the first 15% or so but the curve rises after that so you're experiencing that effect. I'm not a fan of that as my previous cars (Mustang GT and Camaro Z28) had direct cable linkage to the throttle body and the response was linear. Very intuitive. Throttle by wire takes some getting used to especially when the throttle response is some unknown (to you and me) curve. There are aftermarket throttle modules you can buy to fix this though I'm not sure the 2005 model is included. Just get used to giving it a bit more gas and you'll be fine!
Have fun!

Wow that yellow is BOLD, looks good. Bludice's yellow coupe looks a little softer yellow but probably the angle with the sun. Just got back from a long drive in my 05 6 speed AW Coupe and I still say to myself that this is a h e l l of a nice driving Corvette after 2 years of ownership. Enjoy it!

Congrats and welcome! Love the color, kinda thought I'd end up with yellow - to me all 'vette yellows are Corvette Racing Yellow and very cool.
