A lift is not as expensive as most people think they are. Mine has paid for itself in less than 4 years. Oil changes, shocks, struts, changing tires and wheels, cleaning....even waxing is so much easier.

Agreed. The limitation seems to be more with the ceiling height and amount of floor space you're working with. I have a mid-rise scissor lift and it's been great to have. Very affordable, easy installation and useful for many tasks. Since my ceilings are only 10 ft. tall, the mid-rise works great. Plus at the time, the mid-rise was the best for my budget. Now I'm thinking of a four post lift.

Seriously? Sounds like you do not do any of your own maintance on your car. If you did, you would not have made that statement.

over 1,000 Sq feet. Wet bar, 2 beer fridges, epoxy floor done by a company in Denver, crown molding, Led lights, ceiling fans, 2 TV's, etc. Great for working on cars or watching Bronco Games.

My lift in the pic in post #33 is a ten foot ceiling. For lower profile cars like the Vette, 10 ft is no problem. Even my Jeep is serviceable on this side of my garage BC of the high suspension. I do have 12ft ceilings on the other half of my garage and the 4 post lift is mobile. Takes about 15 minutes to move it to that side if I need the additional ceiling height, but have only needed it 2 times in the last 8 years.

Here’s mine, I went with garage flooring LLC tile. Shipping was fast and with some negotiating I got it all for under 1000$ shipped.

i went with VCT tile in mine, indiana it goes from being so hot and humid and to such cold i wanted something that i could could do maintain. I've been slacking on the sealer (gloss) thats supposed to be on the tile to make it look new, but it always bounces back to new when i apply it.
ive seen a couple horror stories through friends trying to use the epoxy coatings , thats what led me to this type of flooring.....it was .40 a sq ft when i bought , it has 4 blobs of construction adheasive on the bottom of each tile....bought it all at menards

If you don't mind me asking, what model is that lift? That's the same model that I've been looking at. That's the same company where I bought my mid-rise.

It is the Greg Smith Equipment lift. Atlas. I purchased it and installed it myself. I have a Mechanical Engineering background and I am comfortable with the design and integrity, even though Chinese. I keep mine overly maintained (My bad habits). I've only had to replace the cylinder seals with a new seal kit. They gave that to me under warranty, and I R&Red that as well. It does the job for me.

I'm almost done.
I decided to go with Armstrong VCT flooring instead of the epoxy coating for the floor.
Too many bad reviews for the epoxy made me say no to that, and this was about the same price .
I picked the blue /gray color as it's pretty neutral. It was a piece of cake to install and turned out mint. I've installed this flooring on a few commercial jobs and know the tricks for a pro installation so I could not be happier and can't wait to put the polish down. So the breakdown of the garage facelift as follows :
New sheetrock and paint . Added more insulation.
New trim throughout. New LED lights. New work counter with some cabinets on the wall above. And the the new floor. All for around $1200 and about 6 weeks of evenings and weekends.
Still have to get the TV setup too.
And a C6. After all that's why I did this.
Here's the floor before the polish. I'll post up pics when I get it done.

all the flooring coatings are as much as concreat that I have prioced.. and the box store ones don't last and then you have spotty sections I woulkd rather normal concreat then 1/2 assesd spotty look. \\would love a nice floor but want to not be scared to drop tools and work on it.

I work on my car all the time...having a nice floor doesn’t stop you from working on your car. I just prefer my home to be nicer to work on my vehicles than the typical back yard **** hole garage with black stained floor, chips etc. **** that. Work to damn hard to be where I’m at to look at that when I get home.

That garage floor does look nice. How does that tile hold up to the small hard wheels on a floor jack ??

And the proper color Vette.

Youre right. I don’t. I used to dream of having a lift. I used to, but these days, I just don’t have the time. Modding? That’s a different story, but my cars are usually toys, so there’s usually no rush. Jack stands and a fridge full of beer makes a fun weekend...when I get around to it. I get oil changes for $30 no matter which car I bring. It’s just not worth it to me.

If you feel you made a great investment? That’s awesome. For me? I’d rather have the usable, practical space than a lift.

Yes....I thought this interesting as well. I mean I don't mind a "pretty boy" garage.....but some of them do look like they don't have very many "REAL" tools for actual repair......decent size compressors......large or multiple tool boxes......floor jacks.......welders.......etc....etc.... etc. And ain't seen an empty beer bottle in one yet !!......
