security has car locked
my 1994 corvette sat for a couple of months without a battery, when we bought the new battery and put it in, the car cranked for less than a minute, died and hasn't started since..when I open the door, the security light blinks, but goes out when put key in ignition and try to crank...when take key out and open door, the security blinks, so I'm thinking the security system has something shut down so car won't crank, thinking maybe fuel injectors, but I don't know, just know that car was running excellent when last drove..HELP

The security light should flash when the door is open, this is normal. If it is on when the door is closed and the key is turned to start, you probably have a VATS problem. If it just won't crank, I'd look at the starter.

It might be the VATS, lock the doors, then use the key to unlock if memory serves me resets the VATS.
Next trick is to take pencil eraser, and use it clean the pellet on the key. Then try to see if it's starts, if not it could be starter, or battery cables aren't tight.

The expression "it won't crank" gets used A LOT in this and other forums. But, it often isn't clear just what the author is trying to convey. Does he mean there is no response AT ALL when the key is turned, or does the starter "click" but will not spin the crank, or the starter spins the motor but it will not fire (either no fire AT ALL or "tries" to start but won't run. etc). So, just to be clear, when you say it "won't crank", just what IS or IS NOT happening when you turn the switch to START?

Well after learning everything from ignition switch replacement thru LMC 5 thru all the ground points, jacking points, multimeter tests and bruised knuckle swearing... My baby lives.
Culprit TDR relay ... Replaced and start. I do have a service column lock warning now but no effect on anything...yet.
Thank you to all for your help. I had visions of a tow to dealership and a $600 starter replacement.

UPDATE 10/25/2022: I got off work early today and its so nice out I thought I'd grab a beer and putter around with my vette. I probed the yellow/black wire on the TDR with my test light and wala! Starts every time!! 🙂 Now what? Don't really know what that means. Anyone know the circuitry or have a wire diagram?

I'm confused! How many people are posting here? Are BCarlile and Justtoyz the same person? Are Justtoyz and digmyvette the same person? OP's problem was over 4 years ago so I'm guessing it's been solved by now. But latest poster seems to be "updating" somebody else's post? From 3 1/2 years ago? Or Is this the dreaded "related topics" problem again?
