Default Asheville NC -- Oil Change

I'm a new owner of a used 2011 C6 that needs an oil change. Other that taking it to a dealership (or doing it myself) I need an experienced shop recommendation in the Asheville, NC area. Anyone have a good Corvette experience around here?

Also, it has 72K miles. Should I have the transmission filter and fluid changed now? Thanks in advance.

The OC is a simple job. You don't need a surgeon to do it. Any indy shop can handle it. The A6 trans service interval is 100K, unless it was under severe conditions, which would go 50K. You can have that done at a dealer or trans shop.

I won't go to an independent oil change place. you never know what kind of cheap oil they are putting in. Charge you for high end synthetic and put in reclaimed dinosaur oil. If you don't change it yourself, unfortunately the dealership is the best place and they really aren't more expensive than the independents.

I would ask this question in your regional forum.

There's always the option of buying your own oil and filter. I know some that do this on dealer visits and only pay the labor charge.

I've got an independent mechanic who works out of his own shop. He welcomes people to bring in their own parts, fluids, etc. That way he doesn't have to order or make special trips to pick stuff up. Charges a fair price for his labor too. Unfortunately, I don't think the OP wants to drive 70 miles each way to get his oil changes. It did take me 2 years to find him, that's the problem with these little guys, just word of mouth.
