Default Mystery Horn when door closing

It does not do it all the time just every now and then when I close the drivers door the horn will beep twice Now it usually takes it about the time it take me to get to the front end of the car then it chimes in or off depending on how you want to look at it. All I know makes me jump every time I have gone into the system and turned off everything I could see that had some kind of horn action to it but it still does this every so often any ides?? Opps almost forgot to mention 08 base convert 13,000 miles.

Go into your options button and press it until you get to the automatic locks option. On your Instrument Panel dash to the right of your steering wheel. (Sorry trying to remember this off the top of my head). There should be something along the lines of off->silent->horn. Select silent or off to disable the horn.

If that doesn’t work not sure what could cause that.

If it's set to beep, it should happen every time. There is an 8 second delay from the time the door closes to the beep.

Wondering if it thinks the fob is still in the car . I've opened & closed my door while sitting in the car & having it fueled up before (to turn off the radio/lights/something?) I'm not entirely sure of now, but it honks twice at me then.

Are you always using the same fob? Maybe one fob has the horn beep option set for door locking and the other fob doesn't.

I think it is the car thinking the fob is inside the vehicle. It will happen if you walk around the car to the front, or passenger side. He said two beeps, but the norm is three if the fob is left in the car.

No, I don't think so. As others have indicated in many other threads, that's 3 beeps, not 2.

Sorry for the slow response DR Gallup I do have it set to beep at lock only if I hit the button twice ( standard GM) fob settings. The thing is it I don't use it all the time just every now and then plus when the car does this I'm not locking it, and yes DD Vette I am still using the same key fob. The horn only does Double Beep sometimes not all the time and yes walking towards the front the car. This is why I figured I see if anyone here had come across this one here. It not not beeped at me 3 times yet at least.
