Default Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving Files for Bankruptcy

Here is an interesting read:

https://www.msn.com/en-us/autos/news...Rov?li=BBnbfcL

QUOTE: "According to the Phoenix Business Journal, the school owes between $1 million and $10 million dollars to an undefined number of creditors—somewhere between 50 and 100. They have about the same amount of money in assets.

They’ve filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, which means they’ll be able to negotiate their debt with creditors without having to sell off their assets. They currently plan to operate as normal and reorganize".

It's too bad. They seemed to have a good program when they were running Corvette's and was thoroughly disappointed when they went MoPar, consequently I plan to hit Spring Mountain in 2019 even though Bondurant is in my backyard.

When I was in high school I use to watch their classes at Ontario Motor Speedway. LONG time ago.

I attended in March of 1979 at Searspoint. Full 5 day. It was awesome. Been heel-toe shifting ever since.

That's sad news... I got my SCCA license from a Bondurant class. I got to meet Bob several times, and he's a real racer, even into his 80's. I hope they can recover.

The price at tracks has risen in the last 15 years due to safety concerns. Rightfully so. Race tracks are safer than ever, even as speeds go higher and faster. But that has meant much higher operating costs for everyone. I hate that the school is going to have to file this and reorganize, but hopefully they find a way to navigate this and come out on top stronger than ever.
