Default Fox Weatherboots in C6

I am looking at getting good carpet protection in my daily driver C6 Grand Sport. I was looking at WeatherTech floor mats, but looks like for the front the Fox Weatherboots looks like they may be better (https://www.ecklers.com/corvette/cor...vid=74a-213d8a).

- Is anyone using these and can comment how good/nice they are?
- Do they fit well?
- Are they easy to remove and put back in for cleaning?
- Can you put them over existing carpet mats or do I need to put them in with NO carpet mats?
- Do you have to remove the current carpet hooks (and how they to do that?)
- Have pictures?

Side note, what is the best cargo liner to get? Looks like the WeatherTech is the one to go there.

Thanks!

Not seeing why they would be better. I've had Weather Tech floor liners in every vehicle I've owned in the last 20 years, and never had a single complaint about the fit or wear. Easy clean, last forever. I have a set for an Impala in the basement that I'd sell for $40 if anyone was interested. They were in my 08 Impala SS and still look brand new. My vote is Weather Tech all the way.

Why would you put either of those in a Corvette? Are you planning on plowing the lower 40? Mine came with Lloyd's mats, that seems to be a popular choice.

Agreed. Guess I should have clarified that when I said I've had them in every car for 20 years, I meant my daily drivers, not my Vettes. But that still doesn't take away from the quality of their products. I do however have clear Lloyds mats over top of my floor mats in the Vette.

So to clarify, my 2011 Grand Sport "IS" a daily driver car. So I was looking at the maximum protection for the front carpets. Yep, typically I would never put these in a vette, but this one will be getting very HEAVY daily use. I wanted to see if anyone had the Fox Weatherboots as I like how they go up the side further than the Weather Tech's. I have weather techs in both of my other vehicles and yes, they are great as well. Again, just looks like the Fox Weatherboots go up the side more.

Anyone have these in use?

I've had some weathertech's in my 07 Corvette for many years now, post style, not the later hook style. The work well but are a pain in the *** as they never stay on the posts. I have the proper velcro pieces that hold it place, but now the adhesive between the actual mat and the plastic disc with the velcro has failed. Time to clean it off and reapply again.

Never heard of Foxboots but from the pictures they seem like a good alternative to Weather Techs.

I have some generic rubber mats and quite frankly don't want to ever bother with carpet mats again, in ANY car. They may look a little better, but are a PITA to clean and believe it or not, but my shoes don't car if they are on rubber or plush carpet.

Gotcha. All the pictures I could find of the Foxboots are shown in older Vettes (c3 and 4). Those things sure aren't gonna win any prizes for good looks, but they do look like they would offer more protection. They're not that expensive. I'd order them and try them out. If you don't like them send them back. Never heard of them, but nice find. And let us know how they work out.

I was looking and it appears the Fox Weatherboots come up higher and protect more of the carpet.

Someone has to be the guinea pig. Try them out and then report back on them in a few months.

While I would never put something like this in my Vette, I am not a Weathertech mat fan. They are hard, slick plastic. I chose a set of Husky Perfectfit liners for my F-150 Supercrew. Better coverage than the Weathertechs, heavier rubber-type material, and not like ice underfoot. Not sure if they make anything for the Vette.

I've got those in my Ram Pickup too. I like them a lot more than Weathertechs. But I would not put them in my Vette either and it is a daily driver too.
