Default replacing tires at mechanic question

currently have michelin pilot super sport from previous owner. when i do decide to change tires at the mechanic is there anything they need to do in terms of TPMS? or just change tires balance them and the computer detects it by itself?

Depending on the age of the TPMS sensors, you may want to replace them at the same time you do the tires. They have 8-10 year life on average and best time to do them is when you have the tires off. You will also have to have the shop reset the new sensors so the car will recognize me them if you replace them. If you keep old sensors, no action will need to be taken as car already knows them. Just be sure the wheels are installed in the exact same position on the car. If they aren’t you will have to have them reset as if they were new. Dealers or discount tire stores can do this work for you.
