Who Do You Trust
So I'm a first time Vette owner and am wondering who is a recommended shop to purchase Corvette parts, upgrades, etc. from? Who do the experts trust? Thanks!

One thing to remember about vendors is that most of them are middlemen . If they have it in stock you will get it in reasonable time frame. If its a special order then you both are at the mercy of the manufacturer. This is why sometimes calls and emails are unanswered. I have had good experiamce with Southern Car Parts and Corvette Central but others havent. A crap shoot really....

How much have you purchased from out of town? Had any problems? How did you resolve them? Ticked off, or very calm about it? Where do you normally buy parts from? Is money a concern for you, or is saving a thing you like to do as a general rule?
If you're concerned about some of the places people have bought, this forum (CF in general, not C7) has been around for almost 20 years. There is a wealth of suggestions, opinions, recommendations contained in "advanced search". But if you want a few answers, you'll get it here vs. the dozens or hundreds in the relatively recent past. Z06clif's suggestion is a good start. Or, you could use advanced search. Or both.

Do lots of reading and lots of investigation first. Do not go to the local dealer unless it is a have to (most cases its not a have to). Do it yourself if you have the ability and resources. Do your research before pulling the trigger. Good luck.

Your question is pretty broad in nature- by upgrades do you mean performance or appearance.
Lingenfelter would be my choice for performance upgrades.
Vetteworks international is a excellent place for painted parts.
Cultrag has always treated me right when I have bought various OEM replacement parts.
Amazon is always a good place to look, amazed at what I find on amazon even from CF vendors - and you have Amazon to protect you from some vendors bad habits.
Follow the advice above and spend time on the feedback forum.
Always review the vendors return policy - some have return policies written to make it beyond difficult to return an item - ie 10 days after receipt to return a part. Any reasonable business would give at least 30 days.
