Dumb question but do vettes get cheaper in the winter? Looking for a 10 or 11 GS convertible. Thanks.

My 2 cents...

These are used cars that depreciate a little every day, they're not vintage muscle cars, although some people act that way. There's no reason a C6 that's 6 months older and closer to another birthday will go up in value the Spring.

What you do see is people who are stuck in the past who won't even attempt to sell past August because they still think there are seasonal and geographic differences in pricing. And I think they're the same guys who put up ads with inflated prices in the Spring but are generally dreaming about their prices. As I've said before regarding car sales, the internet has made the world a very small space. Many, many people here have traveled 1000 miles or more for their C6.

Unless you like punishing yourself and wasting people's time, buy the car you want when you find it. A car priced correctly will sell quickly, regardless of location and time of year. Contrary to what some think here, it doesn't take 12 months or more to find a good C6.

In my opinion, based on my experience, the best time to buy a used Corvette is late fall or early winter if you live in a cold state. If you wait until late winter, most sellers will hold out for spring shoppers. Late fall or early winter, sellers start to get nervous about getting stuck with the car as Corvette buyers go into hibernation.

Depends where one lives.
In northern tiers states, yes, great time to buy.
Providing owners don't sit on 'em 'til Spring when prices traditionally go up.
Then it's a matter of much fewer cards being offered.

OTOH in southern tier states where all-year driving can occur?
All sports-oriented vehicles including Corvette generally commend/maintain higher $.

Always been so, why it's important to do all research ahead of time to buy so one's ready to move fast.
Once Spring arrives the low mile garage queen cherries go fast, regardless higher pricing.
Players wanting a C6 won't drag feet re a purchase if it's the right car
So again locating the right C6 comes into play due to high demand.

The cars that are for sale in northern areas during cold months generally are a bit cheaper and sellers are more motivated. But the volume for sale is less.

What he said. I went through this this year, purchasing a 12 GS Vert. When I saw it and drove it knew it was the right car. Low mileage garage queens are out there.

Did your homework, knew what you wanted and most important your cash/credit line was ready.
A prospective buyer might get lucky finding la ate Fall sale, but selection does suffer, unless an emergency people just store 'til Spring.
Clean well loved/maintained C6s do not last long come early Spring once they hit the market.
