Answer to why are C7's so ugly

I think the C7 is a sweet looking car. I had a 2016 Z06 - loved the technology and horsepower. However, me being a big goober (6'5"), it was just too difficult to be comfortable in. My knees were always against the bolster. More often than not, I'd pop the rear hatch just trying to get into the car. Wound up selling and reverting to a C6 GS.

I'm in the "like them both" camp. The C7 is a little busy, but some of the details are a little sharper too.
When the C6 first came out I loved it right away. (I was a Porsche owner at the time).
When the C7 first came out I didn't like it too much. Especially the Malibu tail lights. However the design has grown on me and while a slight preference to the C6 I like both.
I do like the gauges way better on the C6 - not a fan of screens for dials and the mechanical C7 dials look cheaper than those on the C6. I would like the competition seats from the C7 however

I think the C7 is a beautiful car.
No matter the angle.

This is part of an article from Consumer Reports about the worst cars they ever tested:
Somehow, the Pontiac designers managed to draw and push to production one of the ugliest cars ever made. Even from this distance and 17 years after the first Aztek saw the light of day, it is still a car with the design that makes no sense whatsoever. Simply, every design component and the car as a whole, is extremely ugly and the interior is also questionable. The Aztek designer later worked on a great-looking Corvette C7 and it is strange how he managed to do such a bad job at Pontiac. Maybe he had a bad day.
Now we know "The Rest of the Story"

When I dropped my car off at the dealership to get repaired I happened to notice a brand new black Z06. It was marked down to $81.9k. That's about $35-40k off of retail price.

120k is not a normal price for a new Z06. I have seen them selling in the 80k range for years.

And towards the end of the model year, and after new ones are out, they will discount them enough to get them out the door. Nothing new there.

That's my thoughts exactly...auto makers have played the "discount off sticker" game for so long now it's worked into the sticker price from the get go.

Another world in which I live - When Jaguar changed over body design from a 3 box design to a 2 box design in 2011, X350 owners went over the deep end with disgust. Many said the car looked like a Lexus or a Camry (frankly, it kinda did). Can't tell you how many, on a worldwide forum, swore they would never buy one in a million years. Ian Callum received one heck of a lot of hate mail.
Today, many now own the 2 box style, yet a few (and I mean a few by forum name recognition) stayed firmly grounded in the past and are now driving and trying to hold together very old relics. They have now become an isolate little click relegated to the past with cars at 300K miles and more.
Like any change, there are the small early adopters, the massive middle crowd, and the small diehard never changers.
I know a number of Ferrari owners, they love their cars old or new. Can't say I've ever heard a bad word from them about their cars either way.
