Default Are there any unmolested C6's out there

I'm looking for my first Corvette. I want a C6 M6 totally unmolested. Reasonable miles and mint condition. Seems like all of them have mods of some sort. I know people seem to hate garage queens but that's what I'm looking for. Just a Sunday cruiser. Seems impossible to find something stock. Are they out there??

yes they are out there -- just keep looking. I know because I have 2 M6 Grand Sports with no Mods and my son also has a M6 GS with no Mods.. and we cant be only 3 unmoded C6s out there. My 2nd one took 9 months to find.,

Mine was completely stock when I bought it almost three years ago.

That lasted about two hours.

As you did not indicate location - I assume its wide open for ya.
I bought my last two "used" Corvettes (a 2003 C5 w/4300 miles in 2009, and my current 2013 C6 w/5700 miles in June of this year) from Roger's Corvettes in Maitland, FL (Orlando area) - he has been in business for over 35 years and will only carry cars that are pristine in condition and most have extremely low mileage.

That said,he also demands the very top dollar, too - but he truly goes over each before he takes it into inventory and has built a network of repeat customers over the years.

Yep. I actually have no idea what a stock LS6, LS3, or LS7 feels like. Op, good luck on your search. Lots of stock cars out there. Keep looking on this siteís for sale section. Some of the best cars in the country go on the block here. There was a rare Night Race Blue 4LT with practically no miles for sale not too long ago. Man was it beautiful.

Thanks for the info. I'm quite picky. I dont want a convertible. I dont really care what engine or suspension package it has but I dont want a Z06. I would prefer victory red or artic white with black interior. I'm not opposed to traveling to get it. But that brings up a whole different topic. How do you trust what people are telling you before you fly across country to get it and drive it home.

I just bought one.
Original local CA owner, 18k miles, 2007 Base 3LT, F55, A6, Machine Silver w/Cashmere/Ebony int, original tires, clear bra, never in rain/snow, service records, etc. With a Molroney window sticker on the window it could almost pass for new, a true time machine.

Beautiful car. I'm sure my mind could be changed on the color I want. What is a good price for one like this.

They are definitely out there. But you might have to wait for "the one" to show up. Just use common websites like Autotrader, CarGurus, etc. to search. Be patient. I had to wait over a year before I found one close enough for me to actually touch and check before buying it. But unmolested ones are out there. Be prepared to pay unmolested prices though. Corvettes (which in my opinion are *just cars* and they make enough of them that they are nothing special anymore) are generally priced higher than they are actually worth. My opinion, not necessarily the opinion of everyone else here I'm sure. So you'll pay a premium for low miles and minty condition.

You can get lucky and find someone who just wants to sell and will part with it for a more reasonable price. But you have to be patient!

In my case I thought this was such an exceptional car in every way that I was willing to pay near top KBB, so far I am not sorry. It's a tight, super clean car and finding one optioned up with the features I would have ordered could have been very difficult so I bit the bullet and it's in the garage.

They are out there. I just bought a 1 owner 08, Z51, 6 speed with zero mods and 13,000 miles.
Then I molested it by putting a B&B Bullet exhaust on it.
There was another 1 owner 07 with 7,000 miles on it in Rhode Island that I passed on. Keep looking and you will find one. You may need to travel but it's worth it. Plenty of us willing to take a look for you before you travel.

Yes there are still cars like this out there.

I just bought a 2008, one owner, completely stock coupe with the original factory sticky film on the pristine cashmere carpet . 22,000 miles .

I, also will be adding Bullets ASAP.

Yes, lot of them out there, but the glitch is their owned by guys not in a rush to sell them yet, to pick something else out to own instead.
If the C8 is mid engine, then will see a lot of garage queen C6 and C7 on the block, to buy a C8 when that time comes.

So what you find on the market, is mod'd vets that have some sort of problem up for sale..
Hence guys modding the car pretty much from the start, over there head in the upkeep of the car as well, the mods making the problems worse, and selling off the cars instead of resolving the problems at hand isntead.

So before you buy any vet, pull the GM service history and the car fax , to get an idea of the cars history to begin with. Then if these look good, go take a look at the car, what has been mod'd on the car, and if that pans out as well, time to take the car to the next step, being having am independent shop you trust and knows vets, do a per-purchase inspection on the car before you even start talking price.

They are out there, be patient - yeah I know that is tough once you make the decision to buy! Might have to travel, sounds like you're open to that.
I've done three long distance car buys. One, was with a private party who was part of a local car club who moved, I knew who he was and the shop that did all the work. The other two I bought from dealers. In both cases they were dealers that had strong reputations and didn't have any reason to sell crap - they had the records of a checkout - if a car was in bad shape they'd auction it off. I negotiated price ahead with the caveat that the car checks out when I show up. I was willing to fly back home if they didn't. I've driven enough cars in various good and bad conditions to give the cars a good checkout. that said, I cannot do a full PPI myself and do take a little risk. So far its worked out OK. But has been a risk.
I know a number of other car club friends who have bought distant and private parties. Then they usually ask around to see if any club members from that location have recommendations for a shop to perform a PPI and get a PPI before showing up or when they go look at the car. Hope this helps.

All of my C6s were unmolested. Only had 20K to 40K miles on each of them, except the 05 manual, which had 1600 miles on it.

I think they are out there. Mine was when I got it. I put in sun shades (2 piece for transparent roof), mgw shifter and a 170 amp alternator from a previous vette. If I ever sell it, its getting its old parts in there too. I would think for the volume from 05-13, you can be patient and find one.
