Default Taller tires???

has anyone here run a taller tire like a 285-35-20 or 284-40-19 at the rear?

theres 2 reasons why I知 thinking this route
-toyo r888 come in 285-35-20
-I知 looking to gain a little height but still keep the arch full. My exhaust hangs a little low due to turbo setup and worried it will smash the ground.

Would the extra tire height mess with any of the electronics?

No, if you keep the front/rear ratio the same. ABS has a tolerance window, if you exceed that with either fronts or rears, ABS will think the car is in a skid when brakes are applied. Factory wheel sizes on a base model C6 have a 4.7% rolling circumference and a 34 rpmile difference fronts to back. ABS (and AH/TC) have at least this tolerance built in, but past 4.7% and it is unknown (at least by me) how much larger the window is before those safety units kick in.

Here is an aspect ratio calculator with base wheel sizes in.

The GS/wide body tires are about the same with a little bit of a tighter tolerance at 4.3%

Thanks for the information.
So am I right in thinking if I go with a 285/35/20 rear then the front would have to be 245/40/19.

Here is a tire aspect ratio calculator. Use it, play around with different tire sizes.

I have no idea what the threshold delta that is programmed in the ABS (EBCM). If I were a betting man, and given that the OEM tire sizes are both under 5%, I'd guess exceeding 5%.

Base line, is OD tires size, rears need to be 1.08" larger OD than the fronts.

As for higher profile tires, if you move larger than the OEM OD numbers, then you need to readjust the ECM speedo so your still at the correct MPH read out.

So the trick, is smaller OD rims/higher profile tires, so you can have the same OD sizes of the tire that fit correctly in the wheel wells, and don't have to play with the speedo in the ecm isntead.

Hence OEM Z06 to ZR1 tires/ rims (need to clear the larger front brake rotors on the ZR1), you have one inch larger rims front and back, but the OD of both sets of tires and rims (due to the ZR1 having lower profile tires), are close to the same OD's, for the same speedo and wheel hub sensors calcs isntead.
