Maybe 120 in my C6. 128 in my Magnacharged 2002 Avalanche, and it was still pulling like a freight train. Speed wasn't a problem, but stopping a 6000+ pound vehicle quickly from that speed definitely could have been.

Somewhere between 165 and 170 on a long back road straight. Won't try it again. Takes too long and is very risky( but a hell of a rush). Been up to 140 a number of times.

Had mine for a year. Fastest I've had it for a few seconds was 109. To me the thrill with my car isn't the top end speed, but the torque and ability to get 0-whatever in a very short amount of time.

I think about 140 in the GS, I've been faster in my 350Z. I used to hit an indicated 140 on my VF750F every time I rode it. One day there was a PING as I hit 140, didn't think much of it. As I rolled up to a stop sign a few miles down the road it started to get squirrely and the back tire went flat. I think the PING was a nail flying out. I still hit 100 every time I ride my 1050 Speed Triple but I'm older and wiser now, no top speed runs.

170 in one of my old Mustangs, 153 on a bike but the Vette hasn’t seen north of 90 yet. Probably won’t either. The older I get the more scared I am to drive fast. Now, zero to 90 fishtailing is how I like to live life but gotta slow down once I’m there. Honestly I think I’ve been faster in my DD ‘15 Accord than I have in my Vette

The fastest I've gone in my C6 is 135 and the fastest I've ever gone as a passenger in a 454 powered C3 is 165. The C6 Corvette has a top speed of 186 MPH or 300 Km/hr. Here is a YouTube video of an stock unmodified C6 LS2 powered on the Autobahn in Germany. If you want to see what going 300 Km/hr looks like from the passenger seat advance the video to 7 minutes and start watching from there.

I did 170 once on crappy torn apart economical tires (from the inside, wires coming out). That was before I switched to better brakes, wheels and tires. I have been 163 again very easily but I dont really care for top speed runs.

The guy I bought it from had completely customized the entire thing for his son. It was chopped and lowered, had an enlarged front sprocket, 850 cam kit, bored carbs, everything on the bike that could be chromed was, and it had a beautiful metallic root beer brown paint job. I used to wipe the floor with the cafe racers that had just started coming out in the mid-late 80's. Anything 900 CC or lower didn't stand a chance. The only reason I stopped at 165 was because as soon as I hit that speed the speedometer needle started spinning in circles, and I got a little nervous at that point.

ike that. I was at 135 and thats enough for me. I didnt make it through Nam to die doing something stupid. The 135 was achieved at Spring Mountain

I hit 155 a few weeks ago on a deserted 2 lane in the middle of the desert. It came up to that speed very quickly, it seemed. Was fun at the time, but then I started thinking..."What if a coyote ran out in front of me?" That happened in my F250 4wd diesel truck once when I was doing 75, and it was a helluva racket, and damaged the left front hub. Can't imagine what it would do to a Vette at twice that speed.

yeah ...funny thing about that......the cars whole character changes at that speed. It plants itself and becomes easier to drive. Only problem is as speed rises so does your confidence and most of us arent trained for speeds

Stock they were 68 HP, weighed about 450 lbs. Just off the cuff I would guess to get that bike to 165 you would need around 130-150 HP. That would take some really SERIOUS modding. And then, how squirrelly would it be at that speed?
When I bought the 900 Kaw new in '74, I sold my Honda to another buddy. He later bored it to around 850-900 with a cam, maybe higher compression too, don't remember, this was 40 years ago. My stock 900 would blow his doors off, although a lot of that was because he was lousy coming out of the hole and lousy at shifting. Even up, I doubt it was noticeably faster than the 82 HP Kawasaki.
