Gas smell just now begun on a 2013 Grand Sport
Bought my '13 GS in June of this year and have put over 2000 miles on it so far (7740 miles and counting). This afternoon stopped and filled it up and now back in the garage. For the first time since I have owned this, I have the smell of gas in the garage and it of course the smell gets stronger as I near the gas door. I've checked and re-checked the cap and it appears to be working fine and did not have any issue with it while filling up earlier..
Has anyone come across this?

Not when Chevy picks up the tab. I believe there is a TSB for this.
To the OP, someone recently posted something similar in regards to their car and for them it was a simple fix of replacing the gas cap with a new one. I'm not saying that is your problem, but just throwing it out there.

Will do.
I actually have a new OEM gas cap that I purchased a while back as I thought the one on the car broke (failure to 'click').....but it was just me putting too much pressure on the cap when putting it back on. So the new one is still in the package. As this is the first time I am smelling gas after fill up - I may try the new cap first if it persists before I schedule any Chevy service.

I had the same smell from both my Grand Sports -- found out it was the gas container I used for the lawn mower which I stored in the garage... once I move that 1 1/2 gal gas can outside problem went away.

The serious problem that all of us are most concerned about is not related to filling up the tank the day before. If that is when you noticed it, the pump may have overfilled, or failed to shut off before there was an overfill or spilling. Or, as you have addressed, it may be a faulty gas cap. A "constant" smell of gas would potentially indicate the more serious issues.,
I do wish there were a way to determine if the tank failure that requires tank removal has been seen as a less prevalent problem with any particular year(s) of C6 production.

My 2006 was not covered by this special program. The gasoline smell in the trunk was overpowering. I had the driver's side fuel tank crack and one year later the sending unit crack. The total for the two repairs was around $3,400.

I had the same problem on my 2013 base. Took it to the dealer and after they put it on the lift there was no evidence of any leaking. They opened the fuel filler door and noticed the gas cap was barely on. They reattached the cap but it was not sealing properly. They replaced the gas cap and I haven't noticed the smell since.

Both the Service Advisor and their Corvette Tech were fully aware of this...thank goodness.
