I own a C6 and a C7. They are both beautiful cars for sure. When it comes to the interior comparison of a C6 to a C7 - there are two areas to discuss:

1) Space and Comfort
and
2) Fit and Finish

When it comes to space and comfort, the C6 definitely has more room and the seats are softer overall. If you like a cockpit, tight fitting type of ride (like a C4) then the C7 interior will be more to your liking. If you want to be more comfortable and need to stretch out a bit while driving, then the C6 will be more for you.

When it comes to fit and finish, there truly is no comparison. The C6 has a cheap, plastic-feeling, "Chevy" typical interior. The C7 (finally) brought the Corvette up to speed with a world class interior - using some of the best materials. It might not be as comfortable, but its not trying to be. The C7 is trying to compete with Ferrari and other world class exotic sports cars - which none of them could be considered "comfortable"...but again, that's not what you buy those cars for...and the C7 is no different.
You're forgetting one key point. GM decided to make the C7 in such a way as to eliminate nearly any potential owner 6'3" or taller, or who happens to have a few extra pounds (which describes a GOOD portion of Corvette owners). Dumb decision on GM's part. I know quite a few people who bought something other than a Corvette simply because they couldn't fit in a C7.

Congrats on another GS. I personally feel a base C7 is a step down over a widebody C6. Sure it’s newer technology but all your getting is 30 more HP with the awful cylinder deactivation and direct injection. I don’t need my sports car running on 4 cylinders.

Congrats. I also have a 2013 GS, a silver 6-speed manual coupe, which I bought brand new. I am 6'2 and 230 lbs.

Agree with so much of your post.

Although I still have not warmed up to the C7 exterior styling and really don't want one, I have sat in several models and with the different seat options. I have never been able to get perfectly comfortable in any version. I just feel more cramped. Its definitely smaller and tighter for bigger guys.

The C6 for me, on the other hand, is not just more comfortable than a C7, but is also just a very comfortable car . . . period. The seats seem to fit me perfectly and I do not even have the seat back all the way. I have been on several long trips and have never been sore.

I still love the looks of the C6 GS. The car has been problem free. Plenty of power. The interior is very functional and I love the analog gauges. My 2013 GS is a keeper . . . I hope you enjoy yours as much as I have enjoyed mine. Congrats again.

Several friends of mine have C7's. The C7 just doesn't do anything for me. I'm happy they like their vehicles but I'll keep my C6.

In my '06A, the legroom for my left leg is fantastic. I'm 6'2 plus, and I can actually totally extend my left leg without hitting the front wall. Is that something you cannot do in a c7?

Ripps...it's not the leg room as much as it is the general squeezed in feeling. It's like shoes that are a little too tight, they might look good but you're never comfortable in them

I traded a nice 2011 C6 Base car on a 2015 C7 Z51 because I liked the look of C7 and wanted the upgraded seats and electronics. The modest bump in HP for C7 over C6 was good also. Nice car and I drove it for almost two years and found a 2013 Anniversary 427 with 2K miles that an 80 year old guy had bought new and then was motivated to buy a more comfortable Caddy. Car had a $92K sticker and was available for less than half so I sold the C7 and bought the 2013 Anniversary car. Do not miss the C7.

Then you must feel that a base C-6 is a complete step into the gutter....lOL. Let us not forget that a base C-6 is faster than a C-6 in GS form......

I finally made it to the Corvette museum last week. They had a C7 Grand Sport you could sit in with the M7, and I found it had the same exact legroom as my C6 GS. I had only sat on the passenger side of the C7 in the past, and it is too cramped.

I looked at a C7 and C6 GS side-by-side for 30 minutes evaluating every aspect of them. But while they both have their good points, the C6 wins out on sex appeal and how the looks will stand out over time. The C6 has a classic look, while the C7 does not.

I'm 6' and 250 and the C6 is the perfect size. The C7 as well. My cousin who I gave a ride is close to 300, and he has to leave the door open just to latch the seat belt. No way would he fit behind the wheel. We would need the fire department to get him in and out!!

I beg to differ in regards to driver side leg room between a C7 & C6. This past June before I purchased my '13 GS, I did sit in a C7 to feel it out as I wear a prosthetic left leg, There is a difference and it is that the C7 foot well narrows greatly down to the pedals. For me, it was hard to place my fixed prosthetic left foot in a spot where it wouldn't hit the edge of the brake pedal and this was an automatic. The C6 has more width for your feet.

every body talks about the cheap plastic in the C6 , Well what about the C7, the whole dashboard is cheap plastic. At least the C6 has fake carbon fiber on it. Look at all the plastic I marked on the C7.

COngrats on the new to you c6...

i personally prefer the sight lines over the hood on the c6 better than the c7.

love the c7 z06...just felt the hood was too high and the view of the road was extended outward compared to the c7...

the c7 interior and exteriorlook awesome...but woth the rear mid engine c8 around the corner...i think thats a better way to go..

i prefer the very close view of the road ahead of me..

i dont care about rear or side visability but the view over the nose of the car i like nice and tight...makes it easier to llace the front tires where i want them..

just a personal choice...

congrats on your cool new to you ride.

so far ive put on over 128k miles on this 2008 c6 z51 m6 and its been utterly reliable...

Jerri...you are 100% correct on the sight lines over the hood, not as good as the C6...I got the same feeling. I spoke to a friend of mine last night who also has a grand sport, he's a "normal" size guy and had the same impression of the tightness/cramped feeling of the C7 interior. Maybe that's the way a sports car is supposed to feel and I could see the benefit on the track, problem is most of us will never track the car.
