The NAV interface is truly a POS in any decade. A new disk will not help anything. The only time a new disk helps is when you are looking for a new address or driving on new roads that did not exist in the old data. Probably something in the setup like avoiding toll roads or major highways. You might have had another waypoint selected in your route that it was trying to go to first.
There are any number of instructional videos such as the ones by Red Lion and the ones on the Corvette Museum website. It's a good indication of how awful it is that so many people have spent so much time creating training material. Most modern NAV systems don't need any instructions at all, you just turn them on and use them. Blood pressure medication not required.

People use in car navigation still? Even the new cars are coming out with Apps to use WAZE. I thought everyone used WAZE Now on the phone. The Cars or stand alone navigation were never great.
Do yourself a favor. Get the Pioneer NEX 4200 installed in your vette with the back up camera. Use the App navigation using bluetooth to display on head unit. OR just use the navigation on the phone.

another note. The only time those in car or stand alone navigation is good for something. Is when your phone is dead or cell service is gone and you are in middle of no where and don't know which way to go. .

Talon90 has an old but very well done tutorial on the C6 nav system, it helped me understand the system much better than the manual ever could.

I bought my 2013 GS 3LT Coupe brand new so obviously came with the most current disc..
Have never had a problem with it getting me where I ask it to go. Obviously its an old system but it works fine. I like the touchscreen much more than the newer more advanced systems with mouse-type controllers in our newer cars. But the graphics are outdated so I use it combined with Waze or Google maps which also gives me some traffic info.
Incidentally the system is made by Denso and is very similar to the system put into thousands of Toyotas, Lexuses, Mazdas and other vehicles for about 10 years from 2004 on. GM actually put in a decent system for that time. ( On the other hand the Bose stereo not so much. )
If you are interested and want to post the version of the disc in your system I'll tell you if its the same disc that came with my 2013 coupe. Then you will know if its a bad disc or operator error. Good luck.

First thing I did to mine was rip the factory NAV radio out and replaces it with a Kenwood DVD receiver. Now I just use the navigation from my iPhone or the WAZE app. 1000% better navigation, look, and sound improved as well over the factory unit. Also added a backup camera. Crutchfield sells the entire kit so it's plug and play.

+1 on the Kenwood. I struggled with the interface on the factory nav for 6 months before I got smart and replaced it. The Garmin in the Kenwood is WAY more user friendly and intuitive. The only thing I miss is the turn info displayed in the HUD. Losing that is a small price to pay for a modern system that's easy to use. Plus the sound quality of the stereo is way better too.

I had the address set correctly. I did it a couple of times, and then my husband put it in the nav system as well. On the screen it showed the correct route, but what it was telling me over the speaker was opposite of what was showing on the map.
I order the disc off ebay today, hopefully it will work.

I agree with the others, I've found it a bit dated, but still effective and accurate. Plus its integration into the HUD is fantastic. Is it up to the level of a new ram's nav? No. But it's still pretty decent

Like my father, God rest his soul, used to say, "most of the time the only thing wrong with the car, is the loose nut behind the wheel"

My 5 year old iPhone 6 has better navigation than my Vette. You can't even connect a phone via BT or aux without splicing wires in this car. 2013 was the last year of the C6, with a navigation system nearly 10 years old. It was already old and outdated in 2013, and now it's almost 2019.
Y'all old farts need to stop pumping up old, outdated, sub-par technology.

Beautiful ride Princess!
I bought my 3LT '09 6 months ago, wanted the Nav but it didn't have it. I'm glad it didn't. If I decide I need an installed Nav unit I'll get a Pioneer or Kenwood, but I much prefer the Garmin I can use in all vehicles. The Garmin is used with my paper maps and this 20th century technology works great for me.

I'm not an old fart at all, but I can recognize that the nav in the car works. I wont say its intuitive or attractive, but its functional.

Thanks everyone. I got the new disc in today and installed it and it seems to be working better. and yes I did have it set to the right region, there was no traffic on the interstate so I don;'t know, maybe the car just does not like me. I don't like using a cell phone in the car as it takes away form what you are supposed to be doing, which is driving, which is why the NAV system was a plus for me, I never thought it was going to look like the old duck hunt game on the display or be so inadequate.. However, after reading all of your comments, my husband will be replacing it with an aftermarket one. Thanks again everyone for the help.
