DIY Partition & “Vette tray” for ~$60
This summer I was looking for a partition/Vette tray combo but wanted at least my black/orange cross flags logo on it. After getting ripped off by Dave Hale, aka Madavette Motorsports for $275 & never receiving said partition & Vette tray, I was able to purchase one from a forum member for $125.
I didnt care for the carpet on it & decided to modify it to better match my interior. When I ripped the carpet off I found the Vette bin to be simply a piece of foam board insulation & 2 Glad ovenware trays The partition was a nice piece of MDF but that carpet had to go.
Here are my supplies:
(1) 2x12x12 (in case I messed up) $15 - bin
(1) 1x8x8 (more than enough to make 2) $12 - partition
(3) yards of black vinyl $20
(1) double usb extension plug $10
I just finished this up so I need to smooth out few wrinkles & look for some better fitting trays (I reused what was in my bin). So it’s not perfect yet, but I am happy with how it turned out.
Original cheap foam bin
measurements for the bin. The original foam bin was 45" front & 41" rear but it did not sit snug against the sides. I increased to 46" & 42" respectively & now it's nice & snug with no lateral movement.
You can really choose any cutouts you want. My original had 2 cup holders which I found useless so no need to add them to this one. Just needed a place to hold things & added the double usb charger.
Will smooth out the wrinkles

Thanks! I'm going to make simple boxes to fit better in my cutouts (I'm not too good at cutting curves yet) & cover them with the same vinyl. They'll fit in the cutouts & should look seamless. I just used what I already had so far to make sure it was how I wanted it. There are a few imperfections but once it's in the car, nobody will see them.

Beautiful job, results are impressive.
A pro upholster w/couldn't have done better.

Pretty crazy what you get for your $325 from a vendor isn't it? Those Glad ovenware trays are a hot commodity though Thank you for the compliment, for my first attempt I don't think it was too bad.

I used a credit card through my PayPal account but apparently there were/are no protections through Facebook Payments even though I selected "paying for goods or services" & not "sending money to friends or family". Each entity points the finger at the other. PayPal says it's FB's problem, FB says it PayPal's problem, and the credit card says it's not their problem because both the other 2 say I sent money to friends or family even though the invoice says otherwise. I also filed a complaint with the TN Attorney General's Office & Dave Hale just ignored them for several months & now they've closed the case. Oh well, lesson learned.

With a CC you never have to try to get money back -- which can be impossible (as you know) and is also a reason to never use a debit card online. When you use a debit card, the money is immediately taken out of your account and if something goes wrong you have to try to get the money back.

I didn’t like how the transition of carpet to the bin looked so I covered that section of carpet behind the seats with vinyl to match the bin & partition. There’s also a pic of how I ran the usb cables for the charger in the bin.
