Default Stock C6 - what will the stock clutch handle?

How's the clutch hold up to say 150 hp supercharger?

I was making 615whp 530tq on a stock clutch with my 2005 base model. Then I made some additional mods and decided to go with an RXT at the end of summer.

It depends on how many 1/4 mile drags that you may do or full throttle street pulls...How are you going to realistically drive the car?

With 62k miles and 600 rwhp mine started to slip on the dyno. Swapped in a Mantic dual disc and all is good.

You might want to check with Cultrag. I believe the C6 Z06 clutch will work in the base car. That clutch was designed for 505 HP, would probably hold a lot more.

You are correct. The Z clutch is a direct carry over. I ran both the stock and Z clutches in my narrow body C6 pushing 600hp without an issue. I think the 650 flywheel mark is the designated point to upgrade. Hence the LS9 twin disc design.

BTW, my auto ‘10 is managing LS9 power without a wimper. Gotta love engineers. Safety factor to spare.

The LS3 and LS7 use the same GM clutch. I'm not a fan of the LS9 clutch for twin disc. The ZR1 I drove was a little stiff and engaged high, but what a great car!
