Default C6 Side Pipes

I searched the forum and didnt find any real threads for side pipes & C6s, I am sure that is a quarry issue...
Anyone done the side pipes successfully to where they ride correctly? and did you setup the o2 sensor...

This subject has been covered in other threads, basically it isn't really possible without potential damage to the bottom of the car as the pipes will be very low to the ground.

Im sure the clearance issue can be address pretty easily, flatten the pipe going out a bit, the car is now about an inch higher with the wheels, I would think...but I would go to a coil over to change the ride height to get to use the pipes...I was just curious if anyone has already done it, and tuned the car for everyday driving....and such but thanks for the post either way...

The cost of fabricating a side exhaust system may very well be cost prohibitive. You might check with LG Motorsports in Texas and see if they can give you any insight on the difficulty and cost of fabrication that they have done for their race cars. Cool idea but probably not cost effective.

Well if you are taking about the fake side pipes in the video that is one thing. Real side pipes would need to be a custom build if even possible with the stance of the car. even putting on wheels one size larger then stock would most likely not give you the ground clearance need and if you end up raising the car to get the clearance it might look more like a circus wagon. I think this is a mod you may want to forget about, but it is your car so di what you want.

SS-Vette tried a custom rocker cover/exhaust pipe as part of their extreme wide body kit.

Don't know if it made it into production. Don is pretty meticulous and I doubt he would offer it, if it couldn't be done right.

And then there's this unattractive (IMO) offering.

C3’s and side pipes went well together in my opinion but on the C6, it just doesn’t look right to me. Tim

These aren't even real sidepipes. They are for looks (and I used that with caution) only. I believe they were sold and produced my American Car Craft in Florida, but I don't believe they offer them any longer.

Side exhausts are for C-2's, early C-3's but no succeeding generations. Must be custom fabricated, very expensive and basically out of place on the C-6.

Why wouldn't anyone want this on a C6? The C6 has such a clean design and then you add bulky looking side pipes?Gross.

I saw the ones that Don did in person, they looked great, the cover was insulated that was over them in the rocker panel. Was a very nice professional looking kit.
