Hi hope everyone is having a good day, So I was in the process of replacing my inner and outer tie rods and when I took off the boot I see this orange/pink cover on the inner tie rod which didn’t allow me to grab on the tie rod to take it off, so I decided to cut it and go on and finish, my question is this really necessary? Benefits of this plastic? I will probably be changing my my whole rack and pinion in 3-4months anyways (comes with inner tie rod,hopefully that plastic) just wanted to be safe while racing in the mean time
