I went with satin black on mine. Matches the rest of the black trim pretty good.

I’m curious what the factory black headlights are painted, I’m guessing gloss?

Definitely satin. Did you scuff up the original paint before you shot the satin black? I'm about to do this myself. I was thinking of sending them to a paint shop but I might give it a run myself. Yours look great!

I thought I covered everything in my paint post but apparently left some stuff out. Yes I did sand the buckets before painting them. I also painted the chrome rings around the light which some don’t do. I don’t have any chrome or silver on my car so I wanted the lights completely black.

I was on the fence about doing the rings but after looking at yours I think black is the way to go. Guessing those got sanded and primed too?

I did a gloss set for someone else. If was to go black, I would lean satin. or matte

Satin/matte with matching rings is a good look. Carbon with black rings not so bad either, IMHO.

Those look great guys!

Questions now that I’ve got mine apart and decided on Satin Black.

• What brand paint did you use? (Spray can, base coat/clear coat)? Any heat rating?

• what did you use to reseal the lenses?
(silicone, urethane)?

I really only want to do this once. Pulling those lens covers off wasn’t bad but wasn’t easy either.

Rustoleum American Accents spray can, I believe I used a gloss clear (can't remember) & use butyl to seal the lenses.
