Default Carbon Flash or Chrome Wheels??

Hello.

Although I swore to my wife that I was not going to modify my new Monterey Red C6.....It isn't working out so well.

My personality: Chrome and color matched paint.

I have already gone outside of my comfort zone with a Carbon Flash extended rear spoiler. Before Spring I will add the ACS Zero6 front splitter in Carbon Flash too. LIVING ON THE EDGE!? Ultimately maybe the ACS Side Skirts too, again, in Carbon Flash.

New Chrome Wheels or Power Coat my polished aluminum style base wheels Carbon Flash Metallic???? OPINIONS PLEASE?

It is really hard to find pics of this combo (Monterey Red or similar with Carbon Flash Accessories and black wheels).

(The car is asleep for the winter - so the pics are not good ones for sure. I just set the spoiler on the car temporarily; its not installed yet.)

It will look good either way but the chrome will make that red jump right out at you. my choice would be chrome.

my advice, go with the chrome wheels, take off the spoiler, and get a tail light.

Thanks for the first suggestion....but I took off the "tail light" as I do love the spoiler.

Keep them coming.....I am guessing consensus will be Chrome.

Thanks.

Default With the help of a "Wheel Visualizer" on my car

I found a Wheel Visualizer on line, so these are NOT the wheels I would go with....only a visualization of Carbon Black or Chrome. Unfortunately the Carbon Flash spoiler (the reason I was thinking of going against the grain ad going Carbon Flash on the wheels) is not mounted on the side profile shot.

Consensus on this site will always be chrome and usually runs about 5 to 1 ratio on the numerous threads debating it. Yours is one of the few tougher colors for darker wheels and in the RARE occasions where I see chrome work, yours is one of those. Your decision.

They both look good. It’s your choice but for me it’s another vote for chrome!

I know the color of my C6 is quite different - but I think the darker color really pops when you add chrome rims...just a really nice blend of class and sport...here is my C6 with upgraded Z06 chrome rims:

I have always been of the mindset that dark color cars look best with chrome wheels and light colors work with dark or chrome wheels. My centennial was one of 13 that came with chrome wheels and I like it, but I have a set of the satin black original wheels to try on it come spring.

That's a good way to do it. I've the same with one of my British cars. I have two complete sets of wheels and tires, one set with chrome wheels and one set with satin black wheels.

When I want the car to look old and stodgy, I put on the chromies, and when I want the car to look "angry"....it's the satin blacks.

Hey fellow Canuck.
Mine is similar (crystal red metallic). I have chrome and prefer them.
Maybe consider replacing flat black rear valance around pipes and back ups with carbon.
I have carbon front splitter and carbon rear valance. I like the look.

I much prefer color on the wheels, black, gun metal, bronze on some colors. Black looks good on your car but so does the chrome.
Your car, your choice. Get the ones you like best and to heck with the rest of us.
