Low production color combo?
Thinking about traded in my 05 C6 6speed with 78K to a very pampered very well maintained one owner C6 w/20K. This one is a 06 silver Z51 3LT w/A6. Now the question is: With any of you that have a Corvette Black book or any other reliable info, how many of this silver cars came with a red interior (sport seats)? I heard this color interior combo silver/red was a fairly low production one. Also does the On-Star come with the 3LT package? Thanks in advance.

683 coupes with red interiors in 06. But that includes all exterior colors. There was a total of 2370 silver coupes produced.

Now the question is why only go one model year newer? What’s the main reason, to get a vehicle with less miles, or to go from the M6 to the automatic? Why not look for an ‘08 or newer? Just asking. Best of luck.

If you've read very many threads in this section of the forum, you may have read that GM doesn't keep a listing for combination of options. However, for model year 2006, there were 2370 Machine Silver coupes built, 1636 verts. Also, there were 12,869 cars built with OnStar. Only the 3LT cars had OnStar. Having a 3LT car didn't mean it automatically had OnStar.

Going the one year newer because for one reason my 05 was plagued with the "service steering column lock" problem. Already have done the by pass but the problem kept coming back. The 05 was a 6 speed but tired of the having to put it in reverse so the battery won't drain and again the steering column lock out acting up.
I'm just about 70 years old and have had my fun slamming gears (beside I have a '55 Chevy I can do that with anyhow). I seem to like the A6 better and actually the auto seems a bit faster plus I like the ease of the paddle shifter if I want to have a bit of fun. But too I'm just tired of shifting in traffic and don't hot rod the car.
I also like the A6 because it's more of a cruiser to me which I like. Another big thing is I'm getting a very good deal on this one owner car and the low mileage is a plus. And again this C6 I have now seems to be plagued with electrical gremlins. This newer one also has the up graded rear which is also a plus and the car looks drop dead brand new. The previous owner has taken meticulous care of this car with all the receipts since the car was new. So all this added was a deal doer for me.

Why are you wondering about the numbers and how many Machine Silver with red interiors were produced. It won't mean anything as far as resale or collectability.

Thanks jbc1995fb.
Again, I'm buying this car because of the very good deal I'm getting on it as it's a one owner, very well documented and maintained and very little money being exchanged. Kind of a deal that I'd be crazy to pass up on pure and simple. And of course it's going to be paid for like my other one was. The other answer would be I was just curious of the color combo as I just haven't seen that many. No, I'm not planing on to reselling it or I'm not buying it for a collectable. Pic's will be forth coming.

I don't personally like silver/red, but it's not my car. White/red or black/red, yes. I have also seen yellow/red and don't like that combo either.
If you like it, buy it and enjoy the he!! out of it. As I am sure you are aware, LS2 vs LS3 really isn't a big deal.

Chevrolet did just recently come out with a new "fix" for column lock but it is not a recall and is not free. Estimates I have from dealers are around $400 to have this done.

Cadyshac, Yes you are correct and IT'S NOT FREE like you say (Been there done that) and the estimates I've gotten so far are from about 500 to up to a possible 1500!! Depending whats causing the problem is. I even went to a "Corvette only" repair shop and they told me about the same because on some cars the by-pass doesn't always fix the problem which it didn't mine. Plus this car has been an electrical gremlin since I have had it. Yes,again I have already done the by-pass and it helped for a very short time. I have also gone through the solenoid problem too. I'm just not going that route as I'm spending a whole lot less getting into the '06 that has a quarter of the mileage that I've described plus the A6 which I prefer at this point in my life.

Here is the car that I have been talking about with all the correct decals and stickers intact including the "official delivered museum" one. BTW another reason I'd like to find the owner is that he left his CD's in the CD player and would like to return them him
