I live in Montana and last summer it was pretty sketchy driving through the mountain roads at night even after installing the new Morimoto headlights! I have a small light bar on my truck and it makes a world of difference! If I could see a bear, moose, elk, deer or even a damn jackrabbit coming from a ways away, the brakes on the Vette can handle a quick stop vs. evasive maneuvers when you can't see something until it's too damn late!

Has anyone out there ever (or would be willing to) retrofit a fog light housing to hold either a single small light bar or a combination (to get a driving and spot light combo) of LED light bars in them?
I am thinking of a combination of the 4" or 6" Midnight Edition E-Series Pro:

If it can only accommodate the 4" (either driving or spot optics) that would be the route I would try and go.

I hadn't thought of that. I was thinking of starting out with upgrading the driving lights to get more "Ditch" light. I'll try to take a look at our base model and see if there might be something there.

Thanks for the info. I'm looking for something much, much more potent than sticking an LED bulb into a halogen housing that will blind people!
This would be similar a LED light bar and would have to be turned off for oncoming traffic.
I spoke with Mike at Vettesthetics and he said he has done something similar in the past. I will try and get something going with him on this and let people know how it works out!

I'd just do a big *** bar in the front opening. Maybe make it removable so if you plan to track it you can keep it from blocking air flow. Just cruising you wont have any issues.

Howdy from Billings. I can totally relate to your issue, it can get bad at times dealing with these animals with suicidal tendencies. I too have a light bar on my pickup that I use to spot critters with that's real bright, and it would sure be nice to have something on the Vette. One thing you gotta remember though, is that it's illegal to drive with them on unless you're off road, but even still I use mine if the road doesn't have a lot of traffic. I hit a buffalo a few years back in my Expedition before all these LED light bars came out, luckily I saw it at the last minute, so I ended up clipping it on the side but it still did a fair amount of damage, if I'd a had a light bar back then I would of seen it much sooner and could have avoided it. There's some fasteners under the bumper that hold the air damn on that you might be able to fab something off of, or maybe even the radiator support. I think that would look better than putting them in front of the grill.

Interesting question.
Not many options to retain with the Vettes design style.
1) Upgrade the Fog Lights to Driving Lights (best option IMO)
2) Light bar across the front grill opening - noting above cooling issue comment (some motor cycle driving lights can be very small in size)
3) Modify the side view mirror housings to accept a light.
4) Cut additional holes in the front bumper front vertical face.

I personally would not like to add a light housing to the top of the bumper (1970s Porsche did this), rear edge of the hood or roof panel.
Any way, interesting question, some out of the box ideas, good luck.

Debating on having Mike from Vettelights.com retrofit some Rigids in the fog light housings or slap the Midnight Series curved light bar on the bumper. Decisions, decisions.....

You might also consider doing a simple mod at the fuse box to keep the 'fog' lights on with the high beams.
