My opinion mirrors GS982. I have not owned a C7. But I have a 427 vert and for my money, as a cruiser, I think it's the finest Vette yet. Might not be the fastest, not as high-tech as the supercharged C7 Verts, but it's pretty special.

I can only speak from trying to relate to Porsche guys talk about the 911R. Once again, it's not nearly the fastest, no where near the most high tech. Got a clunk'y ole manual trans you still need a left leg for, no dearth of modern features, doesn't drive itself or save you if you get in trouble, no turbos or blowers, it just does it all old school. Getting one is like hitting the lottery. That's how my 427 makes me feel.

The C7 Z06 does have a removable Targa roof. The C7 Z06 also comes as a convertible.

I personally do not want my V8 running in 4cyl mode, that’s not why I buy a performance car. If you go 8spd auto in a C7 there have been tons of issues with that transmission in the Vette and all other GM vehicles with the awful 8spd. I prefer the LS engine over the direction injection LT engine. People are buying new 19s and still having issues with them. This is unacceptable this late into the production run.

The drivers area was much more narrow in the C-7 than the C-6. The seats did not seem as comfortable(padded) as the C-6. I like the look of the C-7 but it was not at all comfortable. I sold my C-7 and found a very low miles C-6 GS with 3LT and my color. I'm very happy and much more comfortable while driving. Sometimes newer isn't always better!!
