Default Battery Tenders

Alright I have the C-Tec 2500 Had a Bosh Battery In my 08 Convert all plunged in and in hibernation for winter when I had an issue with my truck so nice day had a doc apt so OK fine take the Vette no salt on the roads yet. That's when all hell broke loose hope in car and click click click dead battery get the door open damn window goes down half way wont go back up all by its self WTF, now I can't get out of the car o ya those handles OK now door does not shut. Get that one figured out so play with door some more window goes down all the way buy only half way up hummm. The car has been hooked up to the C-Tec 2500 charger/maintainer this whole time so what happened? Old battery can't tell no marking on the old one have seance replaced with Optima Red top. But was wondering has anyone else here had this happen??

Sounds like something that happened to my C5 when my battery took a dump while on a tender. New battery and everything was fine.

That’s a tough read. Get a battery.

I was going to say that you should have bought a Deltran.

Ctek > Battery Tender, at least in my experience. My Battery Tender Plus electronics shorted out this winter. I have also had it show signs of overcharging a battery; never had this with my Ctek 3300.

And I agree, OP, your battery is very likely bad.

By a Detran. I did BUT it didn't work. My car is now dead. Could be due to the fact it is still new, in the package and not on the Corvette. Anyone recommend a battery?

i keep all my batteries on a battery tender dual station and a battery tender plus. never have issues. i recommend interstate batteries, although i did put a walmart branded one in my truck last year which i heard was made by the company that makes interstates.

I don't know the first thing about Ctech because I have a single and 4 bank battery tender. All have diagnostics lights to show where you are in the charging sequence.

Default Battery Tender Update

OK with the new red top Optima installed I have figured out the window issue kinda, at least I was able to get it to go back up all the way. In the owners manual there is a function some sort of preset for the window on the drivers side that when the battery is disconnected or I guess Dead, it has to be reset so that was why mine kept going down not up works fine now with the new battery go figure. Never mind the frustrations of having a window go haywire and not having a clue as to why I broke down I looked in of all places the owners manual and found the information to my frustrations there. The only thing I can figure is the battery was close to its end of life cycle and with lack of use even with the charge it just said no more. Not being able to find any type of service sticker on the old battery I had no idea how old it was so gone to the recycler.

I was just jokin'. But I do have two Deltrans and they are great. But I have heard the Ctek is great, too.

Good luck.

Today I used a CENTECH 63161 Float Charger (sold way under $20 at Harbor Freight, EBAY , Amazon etc)
to bring my C6 WALMART Battery up to Full Charge.
Light went from Red (Charging) to Green (Maintaining) ...I checked with meter and its at 12.10 Volts.

Ive been using the same model/brand to maintain my Interstate small 12 Volt Battery on my Honda Diesel
Generator with NO issues........

If it makes you sleep better buying/using some more expensive exclusive name branded charger
do your thing.......just reporting my satisfactory experience using the CHEAP Harbor Freight
alternative......(This is NOT the lowest cost $5-10 model)

My real name is still Chuck Sharin Auburn,WA
I'm not hiding behind my keyboard fearful that YOU
are going to steal my ID or my info
