Default Broke the tab on injector electrical connector. What now?

So I was swapping my intake manifold and one of the tabs on one of the injector connectors broke off. It will push down onto the injector still, but it doesn’t lock into place. A couple of questions. First, can I rig it to secure it temporarily so that I can drive it to a shop? Second, if I want to fix it myself, how would I go about that? Just chop the wire and splice another one on there and electrical tape it? Does it need to be soldered?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Push the connectors together ... Then a couple of drops of 'hot-glue' from one of those hot glue guns between the wire connector and the injector ... fixed

. . . or, another option that I've used successfully for vibration (on an electrical connection on a machine tool): Squeeze some silicone on the assembled joint and let it set.

Yes! And electrical tape.

When I was a kid I was always raiding my mom's Scotch Tape and grocery string supplies. It got so bad my sisters made a joke about it -- which they still remember.

I believe the pins can be poked out and a new housing installed. It takes some special tools though.

They are available for like 3 bucks.

Ev6, ev14, uscar are all names for the connector.

Lots of options. Google if your friend.

Hell I think I have a few in the tool box... But if you broke one, you'll break more. Buy extra.

Thanks man! This is a relief. So just a zip tie, tight around the outer shell of the connector and letter rip?

A drop of RTV silicone works prefect.

you get in and release the pins. They make tools to do it. Its not that hard. Then they just slide into the new connector.

I dont get all the suggestions to rig the injector connectors up when replacements are readily available and $4 and take about 5 minutes to swap.

Ever seen what happens to a motor when it leans out due to an injector stopping firing? It aint pretty.
