Default I dont understand, Help me out

This is why I said these forums rock, so I'll ask my question because I cant get any answers elsewhere
I need a MAP sensor, so I look on line and find that Amazon has one that will fit, part # 213-1545 for $40.76, but I would like it now so I check Autozone which has the same one but their price is $91.49 ??????????????
Both A/C Delco branded, so help me out here, why and how ?? Plus I look on EBay and they have other brands as low as $16 WTF. The damned prices are all over the place on these things and as I understand they are not that complicated of an item, could be wrong but wondering about the disparity, I can understand a few dollars difference but this is quite a spread. So do I take a chance on the low quoted one or pony up for the over priced one???

You are driving a Corvette. Fifty bucks difference? Live a little. Go for it. Why all the angst?

If you have Amazon Prime you can get 1 day delivery. Amazon prices are kind of strange. Looking at a set of name brand pliers.....1 set for 79, 2 sets for 399. Huh?

Amazon is not always the cheapest place. Wanted a Dewalt 20V air compressor, Amazon wants $99 for it (no battery or charger). Home Depot has it for $79 with a free battery ($79 value). Drove to nearest HD and got one this morning.

Same Part Number? Buy Amazon. Their return policy is awsome

Being cost conscious is how most people got to the point they could afford a Corvette. I'd rather save the $50 on parts and give bigger tips to the waiters/waitresses and others who do outstanding service.

So being the online shopper I am I checked O'Reilly's for same part, same ##, $66.99 It seems odd to me because prices are usually very competitive but a spread covering $50 seems unlikely in todays competitive markets. And to answer a question from another member, if I can save $50 on a part costing what these things cost I'll do it every time i can, rather dumb not to isn't it Unless your a high roller then who cares right?

I always check other factors, like shipping, return policy, etc. If you go to Autozone or O'Reillys, you can look at it before you pay.

I also found that tools are not discounted that great either, ebay is usually much better on tool pricing.

MAP Sensor is an electronic device and I'm pretty sure nobody's going to take a return on it. Unless the fit/description is incorrect. Having said that I buy these kinds of things on Amazon all the time. I just bought a new IAC for my Harley from Amazon and it works just fine.

I always check Amazon. I order from Amazon 200 times per year and save thousands. Have bought many things that I don't need yet but expect I will.

When you run across 2 new ACDelco fuel pumps for 60 bucks that are normally $500 you grab them.

Another poster mentioned their easy return policy. If you want to take a chance, buy the $10.09 no-name MAP, get it in 2 days, and If it doesn't work, throw it in a box and send it back.

I have not found the national chains to be competitive on parts price-wise. Usually go with Amazon or Ebay. Always compare apples-to-apples, meaning same OEM part # etc.

Seen the same pattern of large price ranges over the various platforms. Did see some variation due to country of origin but no logical pattern that I can define. As for the MAF sensor, make sure the specs on whatever one you buy are consistent with OEM so you won’t have signal issues. I have had part problems with copies of OEM parts with same part numbers but made in countries other than original supplier (ie: Germany (OEM), Brazil and Mexico for VW’s).

I just went through this for a window regulator/motor assembly. Autozone was $60, Rockauto was $24. I can wait a few days to save some money.

This is what I'm seeing, one Amazon supplier has the same numbers as the GM piece but when you look further it says made to GM OEM specs for a part with these numbers. I guess Im just a suspicious guy because of all the scams and shady things going on with China

I have had the local Chev dealer match the online price. Just take all the info to prove it is a match.

That’s not entirely correct. Amazon prime has one day shipping if and when the item becomes available to ship. If in fact it’s in stock then you get 1-2 day shipping. If the item is not in stock you wait it out for prime shipping. Can be extremely misleading.

True. Should have said, you might be able to get free 1 day shipping. Not every product is available for 1 day shipping, but if you filter your search to Prime products most can be.

Just for grins I searched Ebay for the Dewalt air compressor with battery...... cheapest I saw was $129.99 so HDs price of 79.99 was a bargain.

I’ve also noticed certain forum vendors also have eBay stores and have better pricing/lower shipping for the same part on their eBay sale than they do on their website or with the “forum” discount.

I choose not to deal with vendors who alter their prices on different forums because to me that’s shady.

You’ll also find different prices on OEM parts on various gm parts direct type websites. Some sites show discounts of 15% while others discount 33% or more. Some jack up the shipping and others charge actual shipping.
