Is It Worth It?

No kidding. People like to bring this up but never mention you're in 06/07 z06 territory. AMD a lot of people dont want a z06. I could have bought a z06 over my CE GS (and In fact my buddy bought a z06 fir less than my car was), but i didnt want a fixed roof. I didnt need 500hp. I got all I needed and stuff I wanted from the GS.

I spent 2 years looking for my IOM 427. I paid $52,XXX for mine from a private party and then had to have it shipped from PA to TX. I felt it was a decent retail price, but I probably overpaid being a private party sale. The whole process only seeing pics and having a dealership provide a PPI was nerve racking, not to mention having to worry about transport damage. All that being said, it worked out for me and I got exactly what I wanted.
I would guess the car is actually worth between $35K-$37K, and I would imagine if you were a serious buyer, in person at the dealership you could probably negotiate the price down within that range. My point is: If you found the car you want and it is within driving distance to go and get, I would definitely at least make an attempt to go make a deal on the car! Asking price is just that and a lot of car dealers are not willing to "make a deal" unless you come into the showroom. I'd rather go try to make a deal and it not work out, rather than let it be the one that got away. Good Luck!

Can we just say .... all caliper covers are tacky?! The other day I stopped at NAPA to grab some washers for anti-venom and there was a challenger with massive caliper covers that just looked so desperate.
This x100. After my purchase I got this for months from friends of mine that are into cars. They just couldn't understand WHY anyone would get a GS over a Z06. Me, being the analytical nerd ***** that I am, had to school them.

Sure, but being faster wasn't a consideration or making that claim. Things like having a car with lower miles and 5-6 years newer was. Having a removable roof was.

With 9,000 C7s new unsold and C8 around the corner, mid 30s is C7 Z51 money right now, assuming of course you like C7s.

I might be in the minority here but I think the widebody C6 is one of the best looking vettes ever made. I'm not going to sit here and hate on the C7 because I LOVE what it has done to engage a younger generation, but the styling is too much for me.

Not saying buy a C7... I just wouldn't pay C7 money for a C6 GS that's all.

Well its not really a fair comparison. That mid 30's price range is going to be a higher mileage, earlier C7 vs an ultra-low mileage late year C6 Grand Sport. All comes down to personal preference really.

I completely agree. I think the C7 is a great car but the C6 GS/Z06/ZR1 is/are much better looking cars. I find the styling also to be a bit too radical and angular. The lines of the C6 are more elegant and flowing.

Just make sure you post pictures of the car once you get it.

[QUOTE=h8snow;1598922766]Think you could find a C7 Grandsport for around $40000.[/QUOTE
I could find a C7 but not one I would want to buy. Also not a C7 fan, don't like the look, they look harder to keep clean and that engine bay is TIGHT!
