A paypal account is an e-mail address. As a new user, just a note of caution to you. Some sellers may ask the buyer to send money as friend/gift so they don't have to pay the 3% transaction fee. If as a buyer, you agree to this, your paypal protection is void, and they will not re-imburse you if you don't receive the item, or there is an issue with the item. As a long time PP user, I never send any $$ as a gift or friend. If I want the item and the seller asks, I offer to pay the 3% fee for him, so i remain protected in case of a bad transaction.
Many people on this forum have been refused protection because they sent the $$ as a gift, and received items that were not as described. You are then at the mercy of the seller as PP will not fight for you.
Good luck
This is important to consider when sending money through PayPal.
If you don't want to pay the fee, up the price 3%. The buyer is the one that wants the item. I have asked for Friend/Family but it is usually with an in person deal and if the person doesn't want to carry an amount of cash with. You aren't getting hit with a sales tax, so I don't see the problem with the buyer covering it.
