Default Dealership or Corvette body shop?

So some a-hole at work scraped my car as he was leaving and didn't even stop! He sractched up the driver side fender and front bumber, cracked my headlight and dislodged the bumper a bit.....GOOD THING I HAVE A DASH CAM! So now on top of getting his insurance info should i call the cops and say this was a hit and run? Also since his insurance is going to pay for all the repairs (im assuming) should i demand that they take it to a corvette dealer to inspect and repair it or a professional body shop? also should i demand compensation for a loss of value to the car? Will post pics in the morning when the suns out.

It was a hit and run. How well do you know the person that hit you? You can try talking to him if you are friends.
i would ask around for a top body shop that deals with Corvettes. You can ask a Corvette club member in your area who they would recommend . I would get a police report and show them your video. Good luck!

I certainly wouldn't take it to a dealership. Find a reputable body shop in your area that Corvette people recommend.

Many insurance companies have lifetime repair guarantees. I would be sure shop is participating. I agree with getting referrals.

Did the accident occur in a parking lot? From my experience, police will not respond to an accident in a parking lot or on private property.

If you’ve got it on video, definitely get the police involved.

On private property that would be the norm but the fact it was a hit and run could make a difference.

So....did the guy fess up on his own or did you have to call him out? If you had to track him down did you at least ask him why he didn’t leave info when it happened? Hopefully you made him totally uncomfortable!

Didn't know I hit you? Bull ****, there is no way he didn't know he hit you doing that to your car, unless he is driving the a tractor trailer. What does he drive, any damage to his vehicle?

What a dick to not leave his information. If he isn't a friend, or someone you have to deal with regularly, I would definitely look into reporting it. That is major asshat territory to do that and then just play it off like he didn't even know it happened.

Default same damage

We had the exact same strike and took it to the certified corvette service dealership. They did a beautiful job with the repair. '05 Le Mans Blue. Sucks, but you got to move forward from here. The dealership completely understood what the car means to us and how it needed to be right. Good luck.

I’m still trying to get over the fact that you have a hit and run accident, and because it takes place in a “parking lot” the police won’t respond. Good luck with the repairs
