2013 427 vs 2014 Stingray
After not having a sports car for about a year I am back in the market for a used Corvette (my third). Thinking 2013 427 or a 2014 or 2015 Stingray convertible. Aside from the better interior in the C7,any thoughts?

15 w/7spd manual would probably be the logical choice, but I don't like the looks of the C7 so I got a 13. That was the right choice for me.

The 427 will be faster and has a better chance of being worth something long term. It's also further along in the depreciation curve.
I would pick the 427, despite the potential valve issues. I think it's the better looking car.

I really don't see how you can compare the choice between a '13 427 and a '14-'18 Stingray. If you have been watching C7 values for the past year, they are dropping quickly, the Stingray, in particular. The '13 Z06 is generally going to be in the low $40's, while the 'ray is already dipping into the mid-high $30's. A brand new 'ray can be had for under $50K. What does that tell you about the pricing of that vehicle in a few years, and even more, what does it tell you about the desirability of either of those?
Buy the one you want, but don't be surprised if you are still upside down on price 3 years from now with the 'ray.

It's hard to get an honest C6 vs C7 comparison in the C6 forum...90% of the folks will say "go C6" cause that's what folks know and love here. On the flip side, the same is true if you post this exact question in the C7 forum.
I actually currently own both. Im here to say that the C6 is an amazing car...but there is no comparison to the C7. The C7 is better in almost every way. The C7 was improved in almost every category and its hard to argue that point. You may not like the "looks" of a C7, but you really can't argue that it's not a huge improvement over the C6.
This is not to start an arguement or insult anyone's taste, but generation after generation, Corvette has been improved over the previous generation, and it would be hard pressed to say that the C7 is one of the biggest "leaps" in generations thus far. Will the C8 do the same thing? Who knows - its expected to be this earth shattering car - I guess we'll see.

I will also mention this in agreement with the depreciation comments above. The guy who sold me my 427 Vert has said on a few occasions, he'll buy it back tomorrow for what I paid. He regrets selling, and hasn't yet replaced the car because he's not found anything that suits his fancy quite the same. I'd go out on a limb and say not many former C7 owners would say the same.
Food for thought.
I still think the C7 is the more refined car, I just can't get past the exterior.
and the 427 in NRB is bad as hell.

Own both as well. Well stated by Mayor. Both are great cars for different reasons, and each does at least one thing better than the other. Some days I want to drive the 427 vert - more raw than refined. I'm also into technology and IMO the C7 platform is the best implementation of technology and performance yet in the Corvette world. Keeping an open mind on the C8, but anticipating it will raise the bar.

I think the issues with the A8 and it’s torque converter have a lot to do with that. Like owning a ticking time bomb. The C7 is a beautiful design, and values on nice 2014’s with the A6 seem to be holding up pretty well.
