Who let's their wife drive their Corvette? and why......

It’s funny to see how many people get so offended over a simple question not made to be offensive lol. I think it comes down to the individual wife/girlfriend. There’s a lot of people I’d let drive my vehicles, and some I wouldn’t.
I’ve tried to get my girlfriend to drive my vehicles but she refuses. The vette scares her and she says my truck is too big. I have no problem with her taking them, but if she started wanting to take them all the time, I might. Only because I take immaculate care of my vehicles, and she doesn’t. A lot of women just don’t care about cars. I can’t tell you how many I’ve dated with spotless homes, but their cars are a disaster. It doesn’t help that I live in NYC and driving conditions are horrible here.
Before I offend someone else, I’m not saying just women lol a responsible person that I trust to take care of my toys, can borrow what they want.

My wife doesn't like to drive our's in cities due to visibility concerns, but has no problem on highways and smaller towns. Which means we share the driving a lot on road trips and I do it when it's local Phoenix or in congested areas. She would rather sit higher like in a SUV when in traffic and used to drive our pickup quite often. She's a good driver and the only one I trust enough to sleep while she drives.

I don't go out of my way to ask or let anyone drive any of my vehicles, even if it was a Prius. I definitely wouldn't beg my wife to drive my Corvette. Somehow she busted the windshield washer nozzle off the hood of her car, so I have to go to the dealer to get a replacement. Blows my mind how she managed that. Could had easily been the mirror of my car.

Another here for "let?". Just as much her car as mine, our $ paid for it and we're both on the title. She has driven it, and just prefers not. She's driven manuals most of her life. And she did several track days in our 944T 20 years ago. She can drive it as well as I can.

As the subject of interest, then, am I just expected to shut up and move along? Some of the highest milage Corvettes on this forum have been owned by women, I'm not even talking about me.

I wish she wanted to drive it so she wouldn't be afraid of it. She did admit that her dream car is a 911 Porsche and I am working on acquiring one for her. Might have to sell my '13 GS to do it but I have had my fun over the years with cars. Hopefully I can find one priced for my budget and we can keep both.

Maybe we should start a thread titled, "What would your wife do to you if you told her you were going to "LET" her drive your C6?"

My cars have my name on the title, and my money paid for them. My wife has her name on the title of her vehicles, and her money paid for them. I don't have too and didn't ask her permission to buy a Corvette, and she doesn't ask my permission if she wants to buy a vehicle. She has never asked to drive my Corvette, and if she wanted too she would ask me first. And depending where she was going to take it, I might "let" her drive it. She's not driving it to stores, since I don't do that myself, but if she wanted to drive to a friends house, maybe. She owns three vehicles, so she has no reason to want to drive my car. I let her ride my new motorcycle 30 minutes after bringing it home, and that didn't turn out well for my brand new bike. She will never ask to drive to my Corvette.

My girlfriend doesn't even like to ride in it never the less drive it. However a couple of years ago we went on a road trip and after driving for hours on the highway I couldn't keep my eyes open and asked her to drive a little so I could get some shut eye (it was all highway). She reluctantly agreed and drives a stick quite well. This was the only time she ever drove my car.

My wife is not allowed to drive the vette, end of story.
She also hates the car and can't drive stick, so I don't feel guilty about my decision either.
If she gives me any lip about it, I will take away her driving privileges for all our cars.
If she reads this, I will deny that this is my account and I will set fire to my laptop.
