Who let's their wife drive their Corvette? and why......

Safety Car
My wife likes driving Jeeps and trucks. She has no interest in driving cars per se, much less Corvettes. The Corvettes we own are titled in both our names and even if they weren’t, we live in a “community property” state. What’s mine is hers and what’s hers is mine. That being said, she drives out Corvette whenever she wants. I think she’s driven the C6 one time in 25 months.

My wife can and does drive my 6 sp manual anytime she wants. She drove the 2003 6sp. She drove the 1997 Z-28 6 sp. she drove the 87 Buick GN, but was scared to death of it.
What she has not driven, her choice only, 32 years of marriage, not mine, is my 1968 Camaro 4 sp. I am the orginal and only owner, 51 years this month. It is manual steering, manual drum brakes, stiff clutch, and hard shifting 4 sp. She does not want to be driving it when someone hits it. It has 206K miles on it. 327 4bl dual exhaust. I onlly drove about 500 miles last year to car shows, cars and coffee, friday night cruises, and the Street Rod Nationals here in Louisville. I feel like everyone is aiming at me when I drive it. I have gotten silly scared someone is going to hit me. It has never been wrecked.

Last time my wife drove our manual C6 was a 3.5 hr trip from out cottage on the coast to our winter residence.
When I got into the car the next day I noticed the fuel economy was only 17.0 mpg. I was driving our truck pulling a boat trailer and she was with me the whole way, I asked her why such poor fuel economy ?
She said she was afraid of going into reverse so she left it in 4th the whole way, I asked why didn’t you just shift directly into 6th???
Can you do that was her reply???
So far this has been her last time driving the Vette......

My wife can drive the Vette anytime she wants but she prefers not too. She is 4'11" and no matter how she tries to adjust the seat her feet barely touch the pedals and she has a hard time seeing past the hood.

She can drive mine anytime she wants to, I am not **** about it , but she never has. She has no desire to. My FIL taught my wife how to drive a manual when she was young, so that would not have been an excuse for me not to let her drive one anyway.

I kinda feel bad for you guys who don't let your wives drive your vette, or say you got a manual just to avoid it. Heck, I'm still trying to talk my wife into driving my C6. She likes the car alot but is afraid of it lol. And it's not because it's a manual; she's been driving a stick since she was a teenager and has her own manual Miata hardtop.

I guess I don't get my rocks off seeing my wife drive my Corvette. We have five vehicles, and three of them are my wife's. If she really wanted to drive a corvette, she would buy herself one.

Yea......Not sure what the big deal is either. Mine drives mine if she wants to. Sometimes I ask her to drive when we take a cruise just so I can sit back and enjoy the ride. But I do keep an eye on her when we get around curbs and high spots....LOL. Worked with a guy once and while he would allow his wife to ride in "His" truck, she wasn't allowed to drive it, or even keep any of her personal items in it such as a pair of sunglasses...etc. His claim to fame was..."Thats my truck!!". Needless to say they are now divorced after about 20 years....LOL.

Mine doesn't want to even though I've offered and even encouraged on multiple occasions. I think she's scared of it. Then again she's torn the bumper off my daily on multiple occasions and probably worried about doing the same...

She can drive it anytime she wants. Unfortunately its a 6speed and doesn't know how to. I want to teach her, but has no desire. The other two were automatic. No problem there! Oh well.

The GS is her car. She's always wanted a 'Vette. And she only really drives manual. She can drive automatic now, but she started off only driving manual.
Whenever I drive the 'Vette to work, my colleagues tease that I was 'allowed' to take the 'Vette to work because it needed gas.
I consider myself lucky to have a wife who is interested in cars and drives all of our cars. She also works on and details the cars.
