Need to get ready for my new to me Vette to come home. what are some good ideas to help protect my car from 4 kids in a 2 car deep garage. I believe my kids care but they still are kids.

I have a real nice car cover I may buy a cheap cover to go over the nice one and put heavy blankets over that to cushion a scratch.

1" thick pink insulating foam across the inside of the garage to prevent door accidental door dings from the wife truck or from bikes ext.

I don't have a painted floor and I live in wisconsin, so my garage floor is all salty from this winter what to do about the floor for clean up and long term

who makes good parking stops for location in the garage?

any other creative Ideas?

Grab the spot away from the entry door in/out of the garage. Tell the kids to respect the car.

My girls know to be careful after many repeated lectures. Hell, I'm obsessive about the paint on all of our vehicles. Less paint correction I have to do down the road.

Electrify it.

Firmly make it clear the family's Corvette is strictly "Off Limits". Verboten.
They may look at it from a distance, any time they want.

So it seems your kids are a little out of your control and your wife needs to swing her door wide open to exit her truck, you may just need to build a new separate garage for your stuff.

Here's a few other helpful tips.
1. Don't eat yellow snow
2. Don't run with scissors
3. Don't poke a skunk with a stick

Holy cow. And to think I just park my car outside and simply clear the roof of leaves and broken branches, get in and go. Still looks like new. I think two car covers and blankets may be overthinking it but to each their own. Just remember to wash it before you cover it each time or you might get scratches from the car cover.

my kids are good and respectful. Accidents happen. Life happens..... I want to protect them from an accident. I don't want to get mad at them for my fun toy. I love them for real..... I love my car for shallow reasons. lol

I wouldn't take to heart the comments about being overly protective. Some people put more thought / passion into things than others. Would the car be the same amount of "fun" if I just let it be dirty all the time, didn't care about the paint? Sure.

But I'm not a car enthusiast purely for the "fun". Sounds like you like to keep your things nice too, nothing wrong with that.

You'll definitely want a car cover if kids are in the garage. I agree with the earlier comments about keeping away from the side with the house entrance. I've done this and my car has avoided "accidents" in the garage.

Take them for rides in the car, try to involve them in cleaning and maintaining so they'll appreciate it, then tell them you need their help keeping it safe.

Or outline a body in chalk next to the car.

I have 2 cars I care about: DW's Abarth, and my Vette, in the 2-car garage
Also have 7 kids, 6 bikes, 6 longboards, 7 scooters, etc in the garage...

- instill respect in the kids
- do as much of the toy movement yourself
- park cars as far into the garage as possible, have the toys towards the garage door
- we precisely park the cars using a tennis ball hanging from a string attached to the ceiling. we park by bumping the bottom driver's side windshield corner into the tennis ball; the car ends up being positioned +/- half an inch

Thankfully my family supports and shares my love for my Corvette, takes as much care around the car as I do.

Get one of those inflatable car bubbles and use it every time. Car covers cause scratches unless you have a freshly detailed car every time you put it on.

Park the truck or your car outside. It will not hurt it. Your wife and/or kids will, at some point, accidentally damage your Vette more than the elements ever could.

Actually I was really looking for more general tips and storage advise...

Like how bad is it to just sweep up the salt on the garage floor and park over it when the warming of spring will bring alot of moisture under my car. I wont be able to power wash the salts away for another month or two.

this summer I may epoxy the floor for storage next winter.
