Local place here said $75 just for the rear camera, and he said he’s cutting me a break. I’m just going to do it myself.

Remove these 6 screws, then remove the shroud, then you can reach up behind the grill through that access.

Thanks!

I wouldn't call it a tutorial, but I'll give you a quick summary:
- I ran the cable thru the firewall, behind the battery, on the passenger side. Kinda a pain, but I used used coat hanger ad punctured the boot/grommet - very carefully - and ran it along the passenger fenderwell to the front grill area.
- I removed the shroud on the underside of the front clip (see pic). Remove the 6 screws and you can then remove the shroud and get your hand up there behind the grill.
- Then, just make the connections, mount the camera, and zip tie the cables nice and neat.

Yes. I have the interface adapter for the steering wheel controls and had Crutchfield (where I purchased the receiver, adapter, etc.) do the "pre-wiring" of the harness for $25 bucks and there is a trigger wire in there that turns on the rear video when I put it in reverse. And, then when I put it in drive from reverse it goes to the front video. I can also toggle between both anytime, whether in park, drive, or reverse, by hitting the "camera" button.

I'm guessing you need to connect yours to a reverse trigger wire....I think several people connect to the reverse light wire, but there are multiple options for connections.

Good luck!

It's an old thread, but it works on current/recent Kenwoods. I just did it about 2 months ago. Regarding the splash screen and C6 logo, its actually not too difficult, but there are several steps. I've included a pic of a thread on here that you can reference for all the details. File formatting for the image is the big deal - has to be just like it says or it will not work.

I'm not OP but I used this cam. One in front, one in back with my kenwood ddx9904s. Work great , very small, and very easy to install. I paid $21 each on Amazon

Anyone have a video or pics of which are the reverse light wires in the trunk? And how they connected the reverse camera wires to the reverse light wires?

Trying to do all of this on Saturday.

Its super easy. Once you pull the reverse light socket out you will see a green and a black wire, green is power and black is ground. Just tap into the wires with the wires from the camera and plug it back into the camera, I tapped into the passenger reverse light. Then once you get in your car and put it in reverse the camera will power on.

Just ordered Pioneer 2440NEX, two NATIKA cameras, Sirius XM module with OEM antenna adapter, and parking brake bypass. Going to be doing a customer fiberglass box in the rear driver cubby with a Sundown SA8 & Sundown 500rms amp. Will post up once I get them installed in a couple weeks.

You did a fine job on your installation. I've got a 13 Grand Sport I want to put front and rear cameras on. I would like to have Apple car play also. Thanks Mike

Depending on the interface used at your head unit, there should be a reverse signal wire (Purple/White) coming off the interface that can be used, so no need to tap into the wires at the taillights.
