It may take longer for the Seafoam to work. It took around 15mins on mine, and mine was hot .. very hot.. You might try another 10 to 15 mins. It’s up to you. Oil in the valve spring area is good.
Be be sure to drain and change the oil before putting the engine under load.

That is impossible as there is no way to do that in my complex and I am not driving to my guy to change the oil. The Seafoam will have to stay in until the car is in the shop getting fixed. The oil only has 20 miles on it as I changed it the day before this started so I'm guessing 10 quarts of Mobil1 with a can of Seafoam sitting in it should not be a problem considering the car is just sitting here. Like I said when I did it today all it did was idle, never revved and definitely not driven. I may start it again in a couple of days for the last time to see if the Seafoam cleared anything, but that would just be wishful thinking.

My appointment finally got here yesterday and took the car in. It is being fixed at JTM Motorsports on Long Island N.Y. Towed the car there and drove it in. John the owner said it sounds like a lifter after a quick listen but he said obviously it needs to be diagnosed to see what's actually wrong with it. So now just waiting for the phone call to see what the fix is. Will update as I get the info.

in for update.....
however, in the video it almost looked like your harmonic balancer was NOT running smooth. did you have it checked?

lol Three weeks tomorrow. Starting PT friday. Took the damn sling off after a week. Actually felt much better than. Pain was pretty good for 3-5 days after surgery. Got better after that and at this point is pretty good (meaning no pain) Can move my shoulder a little, anything in the wrong way or close to it will result like someone stuck a ice pick in my shoulder. Still sleeping in recliner. Thanks for asking!

Agreed
That don't sound like anything internal inside the engine.
Get under the car and look at the harmonic balancer when it's not running ... Is the front of the balancer chewed up from rubbing up against the steering rack (that sets right in front of it) ?
Does the rear of the balancer look like it's been rubbing up against the timing chain cover ?

If that's ok ... remove the serpentine belt (the long one .. not the short one that turns the AC compressor)
Start it up and let it idle for about 15 seconds without the belt (won't hurt anything) .... Does that noise go away then ?
If the noise then goes away, you have a problem with one of these:
1. Water pump
2. Alternator
3. Power Steering Pump
4. Belt Tensioner
5. One of the 2 Idler Pulleys
.

Agreed sounds like a belt to me. If the motor was blown it would most likely be misfiring, more a whining noise if a bearing went. More of a metal wrapping sound if the rods or pistons are damaged. You should be fine! Let us know!!

I had a very similar sound when my C6 was about 25K miles. The dealer rebuilt the top of each side. My research showed that Chevy engines with pushrods actually do that sometimes. Well after the dealer did his work, the sound was gone. But then about 2 years (25k miles) later the sound returned. I ignored it, drove the car and the sound disappeared. It hasn't returned in 5 years.
So my advise, if it was my car, I'd drive it!
And the Seafoam or BG44K - wouldn't hurt...I'd use that too.
Take my advise - of course - or not...But doing some research on noisy pushrod GM engines could help a little. Here's a start:

Ain't it great when people read the OP of a multiple-page thread, then reply without reading any of the posts first -- many of which answer the OP's question, OR, they make a suggestion that has already been posted numerous times?

I didn't take time to read your post but I think it is in poor taste for you to say "Ain't it great..." about the poor guy's problem.

2013 Grand Sport, bought new and babied for 26k miles. I changed the oil yesterday (dry sump) like I always do every year at this time. I only put 1000 miles since the last one. Always Mobil1. That's a little background. I have been using the car these two days and noticed when I was parking it today a ticking or whatever sound. I opened the hood to listen to this. At first I thought it might be the compressor but on or of makes no difference (doesn't mean it can't be the clutch) However the sound seems to be coming from all over consistently, each side of the motor, each wheel well and underneath (from bending down and listening). Tell me I'm not screwed, but if it is I have to accept it.

I see these lifter failures as well on a lot of “babied” cars. These machines need to be opened up full throttle once in a while. Not saying that happened here, don’t know the op’s driving habits, just sharing what I’ve seen. These motors run better over time when they’re driven hard.
