I also have Michelin Run Flats. Put them on my 2011 base and have them on my 2013 427 60th Anniversary. Wouldn't buy anything different again.

I think I'm going to roll the dice and sacrifice run flats for the cost and ride of a different tire. I just texted my tire guy for prices.
It is interesting that I have a lot of positive referrals to the Hankooks. I like 10 ply TOYO's on my diesel truck, but that is a totally different beast.
I appreciate all of the input, as this is my first Vette since the 68 I had in high school and college. Since my budget was a bit more limited then, I remember putting two different tires on front and back with no ill effects. Of course, we didn't have the internet then for all of the opinions!

I have over 26,600 miles on my Firestone runflats and they have a lot of tread life left. I do get the alignment checked ever 5,000 miles. I also do a lot of interstate driving out in the middle of empty desert. Ride is good.

Been running the Michelin A/S runflats on my Z51. I've been very happy with them. Replaced the fronts at 50K and the rears at 55K. Certain surfaces "growl", but not typical.

The Michelin Pilot Sport AS 3+ look like a bargain among the run flats. These Goodyears are wearing me out with road noise and a rough ride.

Timely discussion, I just ordered the Michelin AS3+ run flats for my 08 Z51. Had them on the 05' and really miss them! They had lots of grip and didn't follow the grooves like the orig Goodyears. Yes, they may give up a bit of grip over the SS, but I like cold fall day drives too where the SS compound may not work. Discount tire $1138 for AS3+ RF / SS RF $1260 - easy choice!

Michelin PS4S tires here, best tires I've had so far. They are worth the cost.

I don't drive mine hard, and I will travel some in the winter. I have a truck for the crappy day road trips, but I like the 30k warranty. Do they ride like solid rubber, like the Goodyears?

Out the door price on the Michelin A/S 3+ is $1371. Can I beat that? That is at Discount Tire.

It might not matter to most, but one of the negatives of the Michelin A/S 3 + ZP is that they are heavy tires. In GS sizes they weigh 31 pounds each for the front and 38 lbs for each of the rears. That's about 5-6 pounds more per tire than a comparable non run flat. The Pilot Sport 4s come in at 26/32 for front and rear while the Conti ExtremeContact Sport are 25/31 lbs.

It includes road hazard, lifetime rotations and repairs. Everyone is within a few dollars of each other. Tire prices for this size (GS) are very comparable, from what I have seen.
I just bought my son a set of 265/70/17's for his pickup, and tirebuyer had the best deal on a good 8 or 10 ply, and only a $59 mounting and balancing fee. I don't think those deals exist for a Vette. I even had a Michelin dealer refuse to put on anything shorter than a 40 sidewall.

I just put the Pilot Sport 4 S tires on my GS. Local dealer was cheaper than Tire Rack on those but more on the Conti's. Go figure. I'm not a fan of all season tires, too many compromises. Jack of all trades, master of none. Not tried the Michelin A/S 3 but every other one has gotten hot and greasy when I push them hard.

An update on my Michelin A/S 3+ run flats. I have a totally different car now that I have tossed the OE Goodyears. I can't tell you a lot of info regarding cornering hard or grip in those situations, but in the rain they are more than acceptable and much, much quieter than the Goodyears. Everything is much "smoother" than before.

FWIW, I replaced the OEM tires on my 2011 base convertible with Michelin Pilot ZP's and thought they were great. My 2013 Anniversary Collectors Edition 427 came with Michelin ZP and I love them.

A friend has a classic couple. He needed new tires and I advised he get the ZP's (run flats) but he opted for regular tires because of the extra money it would cost for the ZP's. As luck would have it, he had a blow out while running at 70 mph. Did lots of fiberglass damage to the body and his car has been tied up in the shop for several weeks now. He is reconsidering ZP tires.

Instead of starting a new thread, I'm asking here instead.

Has anyone installed the Falken Azenis FK510 on their vette? My OEM Goodyears are at the wear bars and I'm looking to replace.
I saw Tire Rack's review and noticed they have excellent performance, when compared to the Firestone Indys. But I saw some user reviews with concerns with wear.
Anyone here have any issues with wear? I expect the performance of these to be about 90% of the PS4S for 1/2 the price.

I really don't want to go back to the OE Run Flats, partly because of cost and partly because they are loud and hard as a rock. This car was hydroplaned and slid along the front along a concrete interstate barrier. I met the only owner when he came in to the dealership with the transparent top that he had not brought in, and he had pics of the accident.
I can replace the rears, and stay with the Goodyears. I can replace all 4 for a bit more than the two rear, if I go with a non run flat. I am sure that some of you have faced a similar issue. What are your thoughts?
I just bought mine a few months ago. I love and support Indycar. The fact that Firestone has been with them over 100 years, is all I need to buy their tires. The fact that they are half the price of French tires, is just a plus I guess.
