Default Garage Car Monopoly

Not sure how many have to play this game game every Winter, Spring or when Winter decides to return for a day or so but at my house the Two car garage is well, your average homes two car set up and as one starts putting there things yard tools extra fridge tolls snow blower welp space becomes a premium and parking the wife Lexus and the vette becomes a bit of a dance you could say. I had the vette in hibernation all winter finally got it out last week when I ordered my new tires for her, got those put on and wouldn't ya know it out here in the Chicago are snow for a day with 2 to 4 inches of wet heavy stuff ugh, with that Car Monopoly went into effect. anyway was just curious how many other out there are doing the car monopoly in there garage?

here in the Motor City, weather is similar to Chitown in the winter...……………. what I do is park my Vette in the garage, right in the center, so I have access to whatever I need as far as tools and such, and the daily drivers stay outdoors in the drive...……………

I know your pain in playing monopoly with the weather up here in northern MN. Luckily I've got over 3 acres around the house so I put up a good sized pole barn where I keep the C6 (and other toys) in winter and my truck during the summer if bad storms are expected. Otherwise the truck sits outside in front of a pad where I have my trailer parked.

I don't have that problem. My wife's MKZ and my Vette live in bliss in the garage. My Landcruiser stays parked in front of the house. My Motorcycle sits between the two. Of course having a 4-5 gar garage helps.

I built a 2 car garage, meant only for 1 vehicle, the C6. It has lot's or room around it, no garden tools, outdoor furniture, patio funiture, shovels, rakes, etc. etc.
I have a stoage shed in the back of the lot for my ride on lawnmover, and other outdoor tools and yard tools.
In the winter however, I do keep the snowblower in the garage on the side by the big door, so I have ready access to it to do my driveway.
The daily drivers stay outside.

I have to put the snowblower back in the shed for the season (), but otherwise I can pretty much get everything in and out with no problems.

I've got "garage envy" after seeing some of these pictures! I won't be posting pictures of my garage anytime soon o

Yep, no pics of my garage. I now see I need a sectional, bar, and entertainment center in it.

I've built 4 homes & purchased 6 all together. A 3-car garage was a must have & this was before I had 3 cars. I've got enough room on my current property where I'd like to build another 2.5 car garage/shop so when I work on the cars I don't have to keep the other ones outside (after my wife gets her pool & outdoor kitchen of course). We get monster hail here frequently so I don't leave any car parked outside.

Been there, done that when I suffered with a regular sized garage. Then I got fed up, and was lucky enough to build this:

No fancy show off garage for me. Just a normal average cinder block two car garage. The new Equinox is on one side, the Vette lives on the other side. The riding mower, tools, etc. are housed in a Rubbermaid 10 X 10 shed. No problem at all.
Would I want a fancy garage with all the bells and whistles? Maybe when I was younger, but at 72, who cares. At this point, it would just be goodies for the next owner that I paid for.
But some of you guys have some stellar garages for your babies.

6 bikes, the C6, and the rowboat I built. Twice the space I had a year ago, so I'm happy with what I got (home brew 'fridge is out of the frame right.)
Moto Monopoly.

Never be ashamed of your garage, no matter how big or how small.
I do prefer a "working" garage however.

during winter, my vette is off to the side and put on jack stands so i can access it throughout the winter for "projects". once the weather clears, the garage is all mine and the wifey's car stays outside . part of the agreement when we bought the house and the garage wasn't as big as I wanted it to be LOL at first she said "you can have the garage all to yourself, I won't even use it" because she loved the house so much. However, she still gets to park in garage in winter months. otherwise, i'd have to go out and shovel around her car and clear it off every day. HA

I have fought with this for years, here are a few things I have done.

1.) Build a shed and get all the lawn equipment, bicycles, etc. out of the garage.
2.) Overhead storage racks work great if your garage has 10 ft ceiling or higher
3.) 4 post lift, would also need a 10ft ceiling or so, but works great for stacking cars for more room, especially is you put it in storage all winter long.

We moved into our new house this past November and I am going with a little more permanent fix.

Weather permitting, my slab should be poured in the next couple of weeks, can't wait to be able to park all my cars inside as my truck has already been hailed on twice this spring.

Back yard

The first shot is of the back yard after the snow storm we got 5. to 6 inches but with the winds it's hard to say some spot more some less the snow shot was Sunday no snow Tuesday, as a mater of fact took the vette out today top down it was in the hi 60's got to love Chicago weather. Although they did say the snow did not happen like this sense 1961 I think something like that well anyway if you look closely just over the back corner of the vette you will see the handles of the snow blower hence the car swap, as in the other pic you will see I have the vette tucked really close to the wall for maximum room this how she sat all winter plus covered with her car cover..
