XM/Sirius reception questions
In the past few months I have noticed that my satellite radio reception is sporadic in areas that have not been an issue before. I have an '05 that came with XM radio. I bought a lifetime subscription. I contacted XM/Sirius and they did a reset and a master reset. It did not alleviate the problem. Their suggestion was to look into the satellite module. Has anyone had sporatic reception in their original system and for those of you that changed to the SIR-GM1 module, have you noticed any benefits to the change. I did a search and it appears that the module plugs in but only a yellow cable is used on the Sirius unit. Thank you all inadvance.

If you lose reception for a couple of seconds it could be normal. I live in a area where mountains or hills will block the signal but I usually know where it occurs. It appears to get a little worse when the tees start to bloom. I’ve noticed a couple of new areas of signal loss that haven’t been before.

I hate receiving the Sirius signal though the antenna, it's horrible! Use the Sirius app, if your radio has Bluetooth, and get the signal that way. ZERO drop outs.

I'm having the same problem here in OKC. The reception drops on overpasses and that didn't happen before. I figured the repeater they used to have was down.
