Default Squeak in Dash

05 M6 Base Coupe
Have a squeak in the dash. Sounds like it's coming from the center to right side area. Almost sounds like a chirping noise. It is set off by bumps in the road. It doesn't do it when still and idling and I can bounce the car when parked and it doesn't do it. Only when driving and it takes a few miles of driving for it to start. Anyone else seen this?

There is a small aspirator blower motor imbeded into the cabin air temp sensor to circulate the air. Maybe that is what is starting to make noise. the sensor is just below the starter button.

I have the same annoying sound that just started the other day. Almost sounds like it's behind the head unit.

Yes we should stay in touch. I won't be able to work on mine for a week or two but will let u know if I find it.
I took the targa top off the other day and drove it and it reduced the noise but it was still there so I think maybe the body flex over bumps is part of it.

I'll keep you posted. I have an aftermarket head unit so I'm not sure if that's it or not.

Thanks, but that’s not it. Even happens in the parking lot when going over a speed bump.

It's frustrating when you have a noise, and can't find it! I wish you luck eradicating it!

I haven't tried this yet, but this may be the solution.

Squeaks & rattles can be difficult to find.
Maybe it is the header panel (that the sunvisors clip to) and not in the dash?

Best advise? Drive with a passenger and have the passenger apply pressure to everything in an effort to locate the squeak.

Good luck.

I going to say the number one cause of dash rattles on the c6 are the center speaker grill and the glove box door....even the switch that controls the light inside the glove box can rattle..But that center grill is a super temperature sensitive booger... rattles comes and goes and is annoying as heck..

good luck
