Default Bought a C6, can’t find part

Hey all, I recently bought a 2009 Base C6, beautiful car, excellent condition. I’ve started modding pretty much as soon as I got it. I went to replace the fog lights with LED’s, and when I did I discovered the whole passenger side front wheel well liner, and the piece that connects the liner to the front bumper was missing. I’ve ordered both pieces, but I can’t find the tube that connects the front bumper to the wheel well, that brings in the air to the passenger side brakes. Is that piece sold separately, or is it part of another assembly, because I can’t find it anywhere.

Appears to be lots of these on ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2005-2013-C...-/281605705202 for example.

Claims to fit a 2006 base - this vendor sells both sides, but I think you can buy just one side from other vendors.

The duct inlet is below the bumper cover, on the bottom of the car. That's P/N 15252927.

For the tube that goes from the inlet to the wheel well liner, try P/N 15252918 for JL9 brakes, or P/N 15252919 for J55 brakes.

I believe the JL9 version has a restrictor at the end, probably for better aero at the expense of brake cooling, and the J55 version is wide open.

It says it doesn’t fit. I narrowed the search to fit my car, and all the ones they show aren’t really the part I’m looking for. They show it coming up with the opening on the side near the shocks pointing towards the rotor. Mine has an opening from the front of the bumper that comes through the bumper and the wheel well liner straight through, pointing at to rotor from the side. I’ve attached the pic of theirs but mine isn’t this way.

Below is mine, on the drivers side, which is a lot different than the ones they have listed.

Looks like you can get a new 15252919 for under $20 on Amazon.

There isn’t an image available, but I’m thinking maybe it’s the part 15252919? My drivers side is wide open, and the opening in the liner looks like that too

Yes. Also, your drilled brake rotors are what came with J55s. You could check the RPO codes on your glove box door to confirm what came with the car originally, but I'd just buy the right hand counterpart of whatever duct you've already got on the left.

I've never owned a base, but is that a charge pipe for an intercooler sitting where the duct would be? Surely that is not where the radiator hose is, is it?

Yes it is, it has a ProCharger on it. I’ve put a ton of money into it since I bought it, both mechanical and cosmetic. 😊 That’s not exactly where the duct goes, close but not exact.

Also, how were you able to find those part numbers, especially with no images? I’ve mostly used gmpartsdirect and found an item here and there and end up at the dealership dealing with someone that even worse than me searching. Just wondering if maybe you had a better site or something,

https://www.gmpartsonline.net/

This site still has the old parts search with pictures that the rest of the gm sites recently lost. At least for my car it shows the inner fender wells and air ducts, with part numbers.

And I just noticed that Cultrag has it back now too. Cultrag is a forum vendor. Gene and Patrick are really good at finding parts and will work with you on the phone. Good guys, bought a lot of parts from them.
