Default towing my 2011 on a trailer

I was intending to haul my 2011 across country on a u haul trailer. When I checked the manual to find out about in gear, neutral, parking brake on, or off the manual says all 4 wheels should be off the ground ??? I've never heard of such a thing and I have plenty of miles hauling a race car. What does c6 general have to say ?

if you are using a trailer all four wheels will not be in contact with the road surface so nothing to worry about. Have you ever looked at the way they are delivered on the car carriers from the manufacturer. if you are using a tow dolly ...........bad move wouldn't do it. Those things are great for front wheel drive cars. You could always contract with an insured carrier and not have to do anything.

I have an enclosed trailer. E brake on, cross the straps front and rear....take off.

Thanks guys. It's not a dolly. I wouldn't go that route. So is that what GM is implying ? Don't use a dolly?

Yup, no dolly or flat towing. A full car trailer will work perfectly.

Not all Uhaul car trailers are the same width!! Found it out the hard way, rented from same place 3x, 1st two times ramps were aluminum and were newer, 3rd time I noticed the trailer looked older, and when I got home my car was too wide to load.
