More power to ya, Hox. (pun intended) Attachment 48331950

I'm 8-9 years younger than you and hate the thought of working on ANYTHING. Imma coasting from here on out, aside from things I *have* to fix.

I know a guy around the corner from me that just turned 80 and his birthday gift to himself was a 2019 Z06 I am not sure if he is a forum member. So never let age be anything but a number and a reason to ask for discounts.

I can totally relate to that: I still love speed and acceleration -- nothing at all wrong with a new hotrod with a warranty.

My '07 with 36k on it is pretty trouble-free* but I pay my buddy to work on it (I still change the oil). I have primitive conditions (at best) to work on things here and it just isn't fun anymore.

I have a '51 Fergie tractor that hasn't run in two years that I HAVE TO FIX this summer -- I really need it where I live. I'm going to have to re-wire the entire starting system. It's ancient, grounds are not good, solenoid is shot, bare wires, etc. I was going to do it last summer but . . .

As for "primitive conditions": I did a complete engine rebuild on the Fergie in the summer of 2001, outside in the dirt with no shade.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT: * "Pretty trouble free": Aside from normal wear items it has been all trouble-free except for the CEL coming on last fall, needed the canister purge valve thingy.

I bought my first Corvette (1967 black/black basket case) in 2006 when I was 45 and did a frame off restoration. Sold the
'67 and bought a 2016 ZO7 A8 (Black/black) when I was 55, and a year later I traded it in for a 2017 ZO7 M7 (Black/black) with red calipers. Both the '67 and the '17 are shown in my profile.

63 years old. I have owned a 73, 81, 01 Z06, 02 Z06, 05 vert and an 07. Since I know I will never be able to afford a new C8, I have been thinking about snagging a C7.

At the moment with 194 members responding to the poll, 75% are over the age of 50. I think it's official, the Corvette is an old man's car.

Oh well, I can live with that, it's still fun as hell to drive and costs a lot less than a 25 year old hot stripper wife.

YMMV

Haha, 1 of my best friends said to me "going through your midlife crisis a bit early are we?" He has faster cars than me so I can't make him eat my dust :p

50 is the point where one reaches "old age"?

Yikes, I must already be friggin' dead!
