Did this mod the other day and have to say that on the 05, the mounting screw is too short due to the frame being a double piece. Had to get a longer screw.

It's supposed to be a subtle change to the car's look, but it really really alters the daytime look of the C6. The amber
DRL's just look so dated

I mounted it on the first hole, 2nd one not really accessible. Curious on the spot where you mention, its shaped in back like a ], except its really hard to get my fingers to that spot as the recessed portion increases towards the inner hole. Then where the plug is mounted on the frame, I have a 1 inch lip on there L-shaped which has the connector flat side aimed at ground.

All in all, a bit of a pain to mount, but more an oddity of the 05 design.
