Warranty
Hey all,
So I have an Ally Major Guard warranty on my current Vette, a 2009 base model with about 97,650 miles on it, which expires in about 200-ish miles. Currently I am faced with the decision on if I want to extend it further or just let it run out. The warranty has done me a great amount of services (engine cooling system repair, transmission module repair, door release repair, etc) so I definitely wouldn't be opposed to keeping it, but I also feel that because I'm fast approaching the 100K mark, that some major repairs are soon to come. :/ I drive quite a lot, mostly between states and a bit of city driving, but I keep up with it's scheduled maintenance pretty well too. So I guess my question is for you guys who have exceeded 100K, have you experienced any major issues that the warranty would be beneficial to have?
Thanks!

I cannot imagine spending money on repair insurance for a car with almost 100K miles on it. Then again, I cannot imagine spending money on any repair insurance policy ever! Take that money you would spend on the policy and stick it in a savings account. If the car breaks, you have money to repair it. If it does not, you have lots of beer money.
PS: they would not sell those policies if they did not make money on them.

I would say that it depends on the cost of the policy vs the age/value of the car

Ouch! That's a lot of bread, man. Do you think you'll have $2K-$4K worth of covered repairs over the life of that warranty? If not, throw the money in the bank and sit on it until needed. Either that, or take a trip to Vegas with it and party like a rock star.

Well that's what I'm hoping to find out. Are these LS3's known for any big ticket replacement/repairs after 100K? The shortest I can extend is 20K miles and the longest is 40K miles.
