Small paint chips on bumper on my 2005!!
Hi, I picked up my first Corvette a few weeks ago. It’s a 2005 vert in machine silver. I was washing it this weekend and noticed a few small paint chips on the bottom bumper. What’s the best way to fix these? Thanks for any input! It’s appreciated.

Dr. Color Chip is a great option provided there are not a large number of chips or areas that look like they have been sandblasted by road sand or rocks. If you need to repaint your bumper cover it usually runs about $500. Try Dr. color chip first.

Dr Color Chip here, too.
By the way, I have a Machine Silver spoiler (like the one pictured) for $50 plus shipping. Came off my '05.
Let me know...

Good point! If you just "dab" the paint on it results in little mounds of paint. In some cases it may take several applications of the touch-up paint to build up the indention caused by the rock. After the paint dries about 24 hours, you need to come back with #2000 grit wet/dry paper and level those little mounds. Then finish off with #3000 and polish. When leveling use something flat like a paint stick or such. If just using your finger you wind up with an uneven surface. There is a lot more to doing paint repair that just dabbing some paint on.

I used the GM touch up paint and clear coat. Looked good for a little bit. My car is Arctic White and the GM clear coat turns yellow after a few months. Have to polish it every so often. Not happy with it at all.

I bought 3M Velcro backed 3000 grit TriZact Discs that fit my Velcro backer boards on my Porter Cable Orbital.
I hit the dried paint pen touch ups for "seconds" on the low speed.....and check to see how they are leveling
Then I switch out the TriZact for Micro Fiber pad and polish with Meg's 100 or JESCAR Correction Compound.
Your idea of using a paint stir stick wrapped in 2000 paper sounds good.............
