Passenger window and door switch inop
Hi all, chasing an electrical gremlin. Passenger window and door switch (interior and exterior) are both inop. Looking at the wiring on the door jamb in accordian tube, nothing seems loose. Any other ideas?
Car is an 09 Z.
Thx,
Mike

Checked power and ground at exterior door switch, interior door switch and window switch. All good.
Next I'll remove door panel and check door module wiring for corrosion, general security and grounds.
Are there more than one Body Control Modules? If so, can I swap them?

Try applying Dielectric grease to any and all electrical connectors that may be involved. Dano523 taught me to do this for electrical system problems. Especially pertinent for older models. Contacts can lose spring tension and this grease will rejuvenate them.
It's also available at auto parts stores.

If you can use the driver side buttons to lock/unlock the door, and the it can be used to raise/lower the passenger windows, problem is at the drivers door buttons. Since both the passenger lock/unlock button is not working, and the window switch as well on the passenger side, then problem is in the wiring/connectors alone.

I'm on vacation in Hawaii and I'm thinking about this... Damn. I'm hoping when I take the door panel off and check the wiring, I'll find a smoking gun. Hoping for some light corrosion on the door module plug. Seems highly unlikely that the relays for all switches would go out at once.

Current situation... Door panel removed. Wiring all looked good, no smoking gun. Removed speaker to access control module plug. Everything looked good, reconnected all working after performing wiggle and no joy.
Possible a body control fault? I'll see if I can find a scanner to pull codes.

Here's what I figured out with the tech2:
-The passenger window module can see the interior door switch.
-The exterior door switch is setting a code in the module for an open ground for greater than 180 seconds.
-Both door switches share a ground.
-The passenger window switch is not seen.
While at the dealer, I picked up a new exterior door switch, it was 20 bucks.
I'll put a meter on the window switch and verify switch is good.

I had similar issues a while back. Window not working properly, door not opening from interior button. I replaced the door opener pad. The can get pretty corroded on the inside causing random issues. The problem luckily went away! They are like 15 bucks or less online, and take about 4 minutes to change out. A cheap suggestion. You can also pull them and clean the inside metal surfaces with a pencil eraser, then reinstall.

When I first got this car, the passenger door pad wasn't working and I disassembled and cleaned it. It worked until what seemed to be the night I took my 6 year old out. She probably squeezed the pad and bent it all up. Oh well, that's the cost of having kids.

Put in a new exterior door switch. Nothing. Jumped the window switch and that worked, I'll order a new window switch.
Both passenger door switches still inop. The tech2 was seeing the interior door handle switch and the exterior door latch was working half *** and intermittently while at the dealer. I also noticed the window was not indexing when shutting. Wondering if the latch sends door shut command which triggers the index. Is the latch the common item here?

Ordered window switch from dealership and picked up a new latch when I was there. Swapped out latch and it didn't work. 1.5 hours later I realize they gave me a driver door latch. I can hear a bcm relay energizing when I activate the interior door switch and while the plug is the same, the wiring diagram shows different connections. I'm leaving on a work trip today and won't be back until Friday, but the correct and new parts should be in by then.

All sudden I am having similar issues with the passenger door and window on 2013 GS. The worst problem is the Window tops out and keeps indexing down a bit and back up until I press the Down button continuously. First I thought it was the Battery so I replaced it. Still had it happening. I do recall having to replace the speaker on that side a year ago and it looked like water may have been the cause so there could be a slight leak down that window. In any case, It sounds a little like the Window Switch mentioned above. Thoughts before I dive into that door panel?

Did you perform the window reindexing process on both windows when you replaced the battery? This resolves several problems and is the first thing you should do following replacement. Several C6 systems are dependent on this first step. Report back once completed.
